Slurping of any kind will actually cause the aul red mist to rise and I have to leave the company of someone who is doing this, as it makes me feel so sick my fingers start twitching involuntarily, as they imagine themselves wrapping round the throat of said offender. I don't mind crunching of crisps, as it's pretty much unavoidable, although it still irritates me when I eat crisps and i can hear myself crunching them. Chewing with your mouth open - arrrrrrrrrgh! close your mouth you goddamn savage fool. I really don't need to see your mastication process and all the strings of saliva globbing from your pallette to your half-chewed food. Bleurgh. And woe betide if anyone gulps their drink in a greedy noisy disgusting fashion, I have to walk out of the room to stop myself from punching them in their stupid gluttonous throat. I am actually at the point where even if it's one of my dogs slurping or making lovely loud smacking noises when licking themselves I will have toput them outside the room so I won't throttle them. Having said that, pretty much most things that other humans do annoys me, so why I get so worked up about this thing in particular baffles me.

I have the exact same problem, my blood boils if I hear somebody eating, so much so that I have to leave the room. Apparently it's pretty common and its called Hyperacusis or something, just wondering if this affects anyone else.

On her thumbs she has really long nails all yellow from smoking and often there is the likes of mashed potato and gravy stuck in the nails for the whole meal. I cant look at it. When she eats crisps at the end she tears open the bag, flattens it onto the table and licks her fingers and swipes them methodically over the inside of the bag. She is just a hopeless case cos she doesnt care.
