The "What's That Song" Thread [ PLEASE READ ]

Due to a overwhelming litter of Song ID threads cluttering the forum.. from August 13th 2006, the forum now has a new policy on this.

Everything related to a song ID HAS to be posted in this thread and this thread only.

Any "what's that song" type posts made outside of this thread will be deleted without hesitation.

And also would like to avoid any real discussion in the thread besides requests for a song ID, identification of a song and acknowledge / thanks for the ID. Not really a strict policy on this but if i see a discussion going on for 10 posts about how great a particular song is or something to that effect, i will delete it due to simply cluttering up the thread.

Anyone know of a song called "Reach for the Surf"? Or maybe a band of the same name, or something similar. I'm very sure it's not reach for the stars or reach for the sky. I remember seeing it in the credits of a movie once and was hoping someone would know what it is.

Hello there, i wonder if anyone knows this song? its a danced up song with a female singer, i only heard it over the last while..

the music goes, na na na na na, na na na na na na, then there is a girl singing and the lyrics i caught go.... we are ment to be and i aint blind, move your sexy body move your sexy body.. then the music again, na na na na na na etc..

It's Vivienne Long. She's a cello/piano/singer/writer player. She used to play with Damian Rice. She had an E.P out about a year ago called bird-song. The song on the ad is called Happy Thoughts. It's not on the EP. But she does play it regularly live. She plays live often...Whelan's etc. and crops up in the Dundrum monthly Bamboo sessions. She's at present recording her first album.
She's a bit twee (D. Rice seams to have a bit of a penchant for whimsical twee birds). This isn't to under-rate V.long's ability in bringing a tune together and her live shows are affordable and worth a pop in. I just wish Ireland could produce someone that can write like her but have big balls in their personality. Makes the live viewing less cringy.
