Scary dog walk!

Hi, I brought my dog for a walk tonight in a park in South Dublin. Tymon park to be precise. It was around midnight and the park was deserted. I was standing on a bridge that goes over a small stream while watching the dog splash about below. Then about 50 metres away I spot a spotlight or strong torch through a small forest. Then the light shines directly at me for about q0 seconds, then shines around again before focusing back on me. This freaked me out. I then seen a second light, a yellow one. So I figured out there were two people in the forest. I thought it was probably park security but this seems unlikely to me. I then thought it could be anything from criminals to murderers, and for all I knew where aiming a gun at me. This freaked me out. They were between me and the exit of the park, so I took a detour through a forest to head for another exit. This freaked me out big time. Anyone any ideas of what this could have been? Was this simply park security?

Scary alright, sounds like people out lamping, or hunting probably be with dogs like lurchers, your own dog may have been in danger, if the dogs were loose,
a warden or the gards probably would have called out or something, bring a torch yourself or just go out earlier

When I have had to take my dogs to the park after dark. (It happened a lot in February while I was selling my house and viewings were usually at 6.30pm which was dark). I always bring a flashlight with me so I can shine it in the direction of any noise I hear.

You can look after yourself, but almost wet yourself when a light was shone on you? How the hell are you going to react if someone pulled a gun on you?

I'd say they were aiming a gun at you. I bet they wanted your dog. Gun-wielding alien dog thieves. That's what they were alright.

Scary stuff - but obviously not for someone as brave as yourself. Nothing could scare you, except maybe a torch!

tbh i would have been more worried that if it was the gardai they might have thought you were in the park looking for a bit of male on male action. if they asked you what you were doing wandering around a closed park on your own at that time of night, there is no way they would believe that you were innocently walking your dog. its just too honest to be believable. you would nearly be better off telling them you are waiting to mug someone, at least that is believable.

sure look at poor old kevin spacey, 'innocently' out walking his dog in the middle of the night in a park in london and he gets mugged, the next thing he knows he is being accused of picking up rent boys. come to think of it i cant reacall ever seeing him with a woman, hmmmm..........
