Dealing with Scumbags outside Supermarkets etc

Just wondering about this.
My local Super Valu/Chipper/Video Store always has hoards of teenage scumbags loitering outside, intimadating passers by and calling anyone who doesn't look like them "******".

What to do?
If you confront them, isn't that exactly what they're looking for?
If you ignore them, why should you let them get away with their obscene, repulsive behaviour?

I don't know what to do.
The mentality of these half wit imbeciles is hard to fathom.

hi guys i think there is only one way of dealing with these type of people if the law dont and thats by force if there in a group out side a shop show up with a bigger group and just intimedate them till they move and just keep doing it till they piss off and if not just use ur boot

Just be confident, don't be intimidated, glance at them as you pass by (ie. don't be staring at the ground), and try to look as though you're not phased at all... pretty soon you cease to be phased.

Ignore - NO!

My advice is to do as Tom Greene did in 'FGF' and "get inside the animal"!

If you become one you will not attract the intimidation.

My advice is to do some recon in shops such as 'Tommys World of Wonder' to observe them in their natural habitat, you should learn how to mimic the behaviour of these rodents more easily.

This is the OP.
This is certainly NOT a tirade against the "working class", even if such a class distinction exists.
To me "working class" means Joe Duffy, The Beatles etc.

My problem is the distinct Irish individual known as the scumbag. I'm sure they also come from "middle class" backgrounds as well.

I don't want to hear this crap about lack of facilities, social deprivity etc.
These people possess the scumbag gene - a gene with the sole purpose of invoking behaviour in its hosts to cause untold misery to those around them.

OP, you live in the same place (Glanmire?) as I do as far as I can tell (I'm not a stalker, just know from previous posts!) and I can tell you that a lot of those people do come from respectable families who live in the most expensive estates. (Money doesn't buy you class!)

A few of them have Juvenile Liaison Officers who check up on them every once in awhile but while I wouldn't suggest you confront them, I think the majority of them are pretty harmless.

I did it before to a group of nine. Loss my cool and grabbed one of them. Nine of them jumped on me so i just started punching the ring leader in the face. When the others seen him drop like a ton of bricks they ran to save their own necks. I grabbed on running and ripped some of his jacket of his back lol

Even though i ended up okay, they could have easily had a knife and stabbed me. Not worth taking the rise these days.

There must have been about 20-30 of them in one gang outside Power Video/Denny's earlier.

One day, I was in there and saw the gang - then I recognised one girl. I walked over and squealed "Anna! I can't believe it's you. Last time I saw you, you were only a little girl. How is your mammy and daddy?" To which she replied sheepishly "Fine!". Then I asked her to introduce me to her friends. She mentioned 2 names, and I asked one of the lads was he the son of so and so. He replied "Yes", then I proceeded to mention how I knew his parents and grandparents very well, and remembered him as a toddler who was into Noddy!
Before i knew it, the rest of the gang had scarpered!
