Yeah, they should make it legal like you say but just in the one county, and they should rotate which county that is on a daily basis by mean's of a draw, similar to the Lotto, but not inform the public of the result of said draw until midnight.

Just because you associate self respect with sex does not mean the prostitute does. The reality is she is making a few thousand per week for doing very little (as far as she is concerned), and is choosing to do so.

I know a few prostitutes (I used to write about the Irish sex industry) and they have just as much self respect as the average girl.

EDIT: I should add most prostitutes don't like their job, but they do see it as a job. They don't see it as degrading themselves.

I once had to clean up after someone who shít on the floor in Burger King (yes I worked there at the time!!), and do you know what? I didn't enjoy it what so ever!! In fact, if I hadn't have worked there at the time, I don't think I would have done it in the first place!!!

In fairness.... getting paid to have sex? Be pleasured?! Awesome. Only awesome if with someone you're attracted to though. Otherwise, I imagine it's just like a regular job! Don't really wanna do it, but do cause it's yer job!

I gather not -- and that's because you obviously DO have some sort of hang-up about the genitalia, which results in you affording them emotional importance. It's nothing new, people have had a 'taboo' relationship with genitalia for centuries (see the number of virgin births and immaculate conceptions in religion for example), and they (you in this case) project their own emotional baggage onto other people.

Not everyone shares your opinions however. Your bits and pieces are just another part of your anatomy which can be used in whatever way you so choose.

I've sold food to people I don't like. I've sold shoes to people I don't like. I've fixed computers for people I don't like. I didn't like them, but thats the job I was being paid to do. I don't see sex as any different than any other service. And neither do prostitutes. Obviously you do, fair enough.

So you'd have less respect for someone who was a prostitute and make a few thousand a week for three nights work and had the rest of the time to do what they wanted or someone who worked a minimum wage job six nights a week and barely scraped three hundred?

I know which job I'd rather.

As for the daughter question, I don't have any. I have a sister. And if she decided to do the same and it was a regulated protected environment where she had a veto, then I'd say no problem, go for it.
