Cheapest, probably the middle 2, I would say but there's not a lot in it altogether, the dublin prices are creeping in.

But as this thread is about best "Boozers" i'd have to suggest
The Snailbox in Kilmoon. Its got everything down to a T "bar the prices".
Average enough food(but bloody expensive), drink(is dublin prices), newly renovated premises, plenty of parking, atmosphere, pool table, jukebox, pretty hot E-EU waitresses and big enough area for a decent function. doesn't make you feel as if you're sitting in someones sitting room.

Shame about the prices in the place. E20+ for breast of chicken with pasta.:eek:
Fillet steak is E25+
Shame they don't change the menu around - everything seems to be deep fried :eek:- chips - wedges - fish - garlic mushrooms - brie - crab sticks - chicken goujons - sausages - onion rings.
Mind you, it is a steak-house.

But the place is always packed so people don't mind paying the prices??

Kind of, but the other thread also has information about restaurants, this one should be confined strictly to Boozers

Sally Rogers pub in Trim has the nicest beer garden/balcony I know of. Only really nice in the summer (obviously) but when you get a good day, its really excellent to sit there sipping a cold bevvie on the beer garden which hangs on a ledge over the Boyne in the middle of the town.

And if you get too drunk to be able to cook for yourself, theres a chinese upstairs too.

Mrs. O's is a great boozer as well as being affordable, not a great fan of the barn style pub myself so the glorious /facilities/ of the likes of The Snailbox don't really appeal to me. I like the fact that it's small enough to force all conversations into an open discussion, until there's more than 10 people in the place when it becomes uncomfartably packed.

Hmm, maybe I'll go for a quick pint now.

The courtyard in Johnstown, Navan is a pretty good all round pub, decent pint and food.

I'm visiting my friend in Navan next month and we want to go for a booze-up. We are from Poland and don't know where to go.What club would you recommand?(only in Navan)We'd prefer friendly and safe places where polish people are rarely seen (if such a place exists haha). All kinds of music acceptable.I'm 21 this year and she is 22 so no problem with IDs.:)I heard that polish guys are not allowed to go in to Solar.Is it true?

You want to head to Skreen and head to Mrs O's.

Im sure thats not true Ula. Ive never been to Solar as Im 19 and always get refused :rolleyes:
The only places I can recommend are The Palace and Taboo. Both are in the centre of town so would be safest too.

The Palace - Ive never been there either but my friends go a lot, they say its good. An there's a Piano Bar in it too.
Taboo - I went there once, nice place, 2 dancefloors.

I cant really comment much as I dont really go to nightclubs in Navan.

And one more thing I have to mention...if anybody mentions a nightclub called Liquid, just ignore them, dont even THINK about going there, trust me

Dunshaughlin
Carberrys - only decent pub in Dunshaughlin, it has a nice warm atmosphere and always a good crowd there, good selection of drinks there too, they also now sell kopparberg which used to be very hard to get outside Dublin.

Avoid The Shibin & Peters in Dunshaughlin, both of these pubs are souless. The Shibin looks nice but its nearly always empty and service is poor, food very poor. Peters is completely souless, horrible cold, modern furnishings inside, not what you would expect in a country meath village. food is not great and its expensive as well. Peters is often mostly empty as well.

Ratoath
Ryans - Very good pub for drinking, its got very good Guiness. The restaurant part is to be avoided during the week as the service is very poor due to understaffing and owners not around to keep things moving. Restaurant only worth going to on a Friday/Saturday night when its busier even then its very expensive despite the big portions.

What time are the clubs closed?Do they check IDs?I don't want to take my ID to the club cos I lost one when I was in London and had big troubles!

Yeah definitely bring ID alright, I hate carrying mine around too but chances are you will need it

Liquid, well its the furthest out of town and its extremely difficult to get taxis back into town, the music is rubbish, and its full of 16-year olds. And some people there are...well...

Like I said I dont go out much here but I would probably go to Taboo, or else The Palace or Solar, all 3 are nicely located too.

If you are going out in navan the only places that are really cool are Knights and Taboo

Peters tries to pass itse;f off as more than a village boozer which is it's main problem. It caters to the lunchtime teacher crowd but that's about it. Well that and the cast off's from carberry's on a Saturday night.

Carberry's is the best one of the lot (and I'm not just saying that because I used to work there), the guy who owns it owns the Sibin as well but that's a gawd awful pub with overpriced food.

I couldnt agree more. Carberrys is easily the best pub in Dunshaughlin, pity it doesnt have any food in it tho. Both the shibin and peters are terrible pubs for different reasons.

That's the unfortunate thing about Carberrys and the Sibin being owned by the same people, they keep the food in carberrys down to crisps and hot nuts (bloody hell I loved them) so people will go to the Sibin to be charged a fortune.

I went I saw I was drunk and I had fun. We went to Solar on Friday and visited the Palace on Sunday 17 Feb(suprised that the clubs are open on Sun).I think Solar was better but I'm not sure coz I don't remember much from that weekend. Did anyone see crazy polish girls on the dancefloor?:D

Irish clubs are quite nice but they should be open from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.:)

Haven't been in Morans in years but true, it's some spot. Has character! Marcy Regan's (now David's Lad) in Trim is similarly pokey. Nothing like a box bar with a good pint!

I wouldnt be in Navan much but when we do go there Knights is always jammed. If the McGarrys are playing too its good.
