I dont think ebay will refund the money unless the OP stated that when advertising the tickets. The OP was selling two tickets, and the buyer got two tickets. EBay will say the OP done nothing wrong, unless he made a guarantee of the concert taking place.

They can't necessarily.

If you buy something on ebay and it stops working suddenly, you can't get always get a refund from the seller. And ebay aren't in a position to charge the seller at that stage.

They bought the tickets knowing at certain level of risk. That risk has transpired in the cancellation of the concert.

I'm not saying the OP shouldn't refund the money. Just saying that she won't necessarily have to.

Did the new buyer ask for a refund.He he/she didnt then dont bother giving it back.If they do ask then just refund the 99.Its not your problem the concert is cancelled.

Give back the 240 minus any costs/charges you incur in the exchanges. You won't lose any money and little in the way of time - and it's the honest thing to do. I can't see the charges being big on this one, so really you'll probably just be giving them the 240.

Any thing else is being a low-life in my opinion.

The buyer was an idiot to buy tickets at inflated prices off ebay (and you) in the first place.
If you refund, you're giving touts a good name...
I'd say keep the money, and enjoy it.
You've just made extra profit out of an original nice profit you raked from touting them in in the first place.
Surely you don't expect a 'warm fuzzy feeling' by refunding?
Your intention was to rip someone off in the first place anyway, so why 'be fair' now?

I think they are asking you if refunds are available from the promoters but dropping the hint that they'd like a refund on the 240 from you.

Looks to me like the person is gently asking for a refund. You already know what the story is regarding refunds. 'cmon kill this thread and do the right thing.

Plus it would be very hard to sell again on Ebay if you get a bad reputation from this...

Depends on what you are going to do. If you plan on refunding her then contact her and say they are offering refunds for the concert and I will be refunding you also.

If you are planning on keeping the money, then you can A) Ignore her

Tell her you have heard nothing about it. C) Write back and say that unfortunantly the concert wasn cancelled however any issues you have with your tickets should be taken up with the concert promoters.

its fairly obvious what they are looking for. Give them back their money minus any postage / paypal costs you incurred.

You can tell by the red text that she is passionate and proud, and her assertiveness shows she is considerate but relentless in getting what she wants. If you both bat for the same team, I think you should ask her on a date....

She wants her money back unless another date is confirmed for which she go to from her already existing purchase. You don't need to be a clairvoyant to see that!

Very simple one really. She paid the OP for tickets to a concert that was subsequently cancelled and for which refunds are now being issued.

You should therefore refund her the full amount she paid you for them (minus any charges). What would you want in her place?

That's outside the scope of this discussion isn't it? Voting "Yes, Be Fair" isn't an endorsement of ticket touting. The touting has already been done - this is a different matter altogether.

Well, she said another engagement came up after having purchased the tickets. So while she was making a tidy profit, she didn't buy the tickets with intention of doing so.

First things first.

No you didn't force anyone to bid on your tickets but you could have said to the winner, "Wow, you really wanted those tickets but I'm not a tout so I'm going to give them to you for the price they cost me plus a few quid for postage etc. It's only fair and I'm a nice person not a profiteering scumbag".

Anything other than that means you were happy to tout!

Secondly, you should give her the €240 back minus any costs to you.

Thirdly, her email to you is appealing to your sense of fairness and honesty so be fair and honest and give her her money back and wish her a great Christmas and Happy New Year.
