Yea, it's a shame I work for a living alright. I could be in a different part of the city/country every day, not returning to HQ for months at a time.

Oh, and I wouldn't ever want go on holiday for more than 3 days if I had ordered something in the previous '28 days' just in case a package might arrive.

To their credit, the collection centres do open form 8am to 6pm (and through lunch) - not bad for a state body that doesn't really have to give a damn.

I'd almost try Dodge's suggestion, but by the sounds of things, if the bowl isn't already broken, it almost certainly will be if it gets reposted.

That's a pretty exceptional case. If you receive a lot of packages i'd suggest you hire a mailbox?

It is rather exceptional, I'll admit.

But going on holiday for more than 3 day isn't. And it's not that inconceivable that someone might have ordered something in the preceding weeks that has a 'up to 21/28 days' delivery time attached. It's in cases like this, I think the 3 days seems a touch on the short side.

Incidentally, I've received a couple of notices for "small packages" before that had a 5 day collection limit. I'm guessing because this is considered "large", I only get 3 days.

Thats odd. Any time An Post leave a notice for me it has always been 7 days for collection. 3 days is a bit harsh alright. As you say, what if you are on hols?

Back on topic: Postie managed to squeeze my Old El Paso package through the letterbox so dont have to go and collect it.

I'd like to think most people working in an office can get parcels delivered to them?
I know if you ask nicely the guys in Rathmines sorting office will keep stuff for you for longer than is 'allowed', and An Post do offer a holiday mail service where they'll keep all your post in the sorting office until you return.

Sorry not very good at putting up links but you can google the Harp Club as in the lager for a free dvd. says N.I only but worth a try if u are interested. Choice of 3 slightly dodgy dvds but free. I think you can get free harp in pubs in the north too, check it out up north.
