Which side of the bed?

Ok...

If and when you share a bed with someone*, which side of the bed do you prefer** to sleep on.

(from the prospective of if you were standing at the foot of the bed while looking at the top of the bed, left is ...left and right is right.

)

I speculate that the female population on average favour one particular side moreso than the other, possibly the men too.

Note: It's which side you prefer, not which side your other half told you are sleeping on because they wear the trousers.

Side nearest the door, so left side. Sometimes diagonally across the bed and then I get a kick in the leg or elbow in the side from the wife.

Left or right doesnt bother me, but I have to sleep on the side furthest from the wall - I guess I like more space. Unless, that is, I allow another person in, in which case the male always seems to take the side closest to the door regardless of the floor space in between. Big protective man thing I guess...

I voted RHS of bed as thats the side i start on, then i move to the LHS and usually end up sleeping in the middle sprawled out like a star fish.

But with my ex I always slept on the LHS of the bed.

When Pigheads at home and he fancies a bit of shuteye it'd generally be the whole of the bed. One big spreadeagled mass of Pighead.

When Pigheads feeling pervy and lecherous it'd generally be the right hand side.....

Star shape in the middle of the bed whenever possible, or diagonal across.

Unfortunately I have to make room for the boy so don't get to do it often enough.

I don't like choosing sides, makes things more "settled":eek: I prefer to randomly sleep on different sides every night.

Generally just whichever side is closest to the door. Though it does have the drawback of being the last usually to switch off the light. So closest to the door with bedside lamp really.

When sleeping alone it's the RHS which in my room is closest to the door though when sharing a bed I prefer the LHS.

You may prefer sleeping on the LHS when sharing a bed but at the end of the day you know as well as Pighead that you'll sleep on whatever side your mother tells you to.

there was a study done somewhere (america most likely) on this subject and a poll on the radio (today fm) and it was about dominance and when you think about it most men are on the left and thats the driving seat ????

I'm sleeping all on my own in a double bed. I used to tend to sleep on the left hand side, probably because that's the nearest to the radio. Now though, I'm roaming all over the bed and could wake up anywhere. Oh the joys of being single!

Generally speaking men are genetically predisposed to favouring the side closest to the door (formerly, closest to the mouth of the cave) and women the side closest to the wall (formerly, closest to the young 'uns).

Allan and Barbara pease cover it in one of their books, but for the life of me, I can't remember which one.

I always prefer to sleep nearer the window if my boyfriends there. If he isnt I tend to sleep on the side nearest the door. Dont know why!

Right side. I sleep on my right side so if I'm in a bed with someone I'd rather get a kick in the arse than an elbow in the face (if I slept on my left side).
