Sexist Kenyan Monkeys!

They estimate there are close to 300 monkeys invading the farms at dawn. They eat the village's maize, potatoes, beans and other crops.
Nachu's women have tried wearing their husbands' clothes in an attempt to trick the monkeys into thinking they are men - but this has failed, they say.

"But the monkeys can tell the difference and they don't run away from us and point at our breasts. They just ignore us and continue to steal the crops."

In addition to stealing their crops, the monkeys also make sexually explicit gestures at the women, they claim.
The monkeys grab their breasts, and gesture at us while pointing at their private parts. We are afraid that they will sexually harass us," said Mrs Njeri.

The monkey squad are not very good at scaring away the monkeys.

Monkeys are fantastic. I was in Thailand 2 years ago, on the boat tour between Koh Phi Phi and a few other islands. They took us to 'monkey island', and even though the boat was about 3 metres out from the coastline, the monkeys would come out, be very timid, and almost smile for us to throw bananas at them. If you didn't throw them the bananas to the beach, and instead threw them into the water, they'd look at you, look at the ground, look at you again, and grudgingly wade out for the food. When they were turning around to wade back in again, they'd give you a dirty look.

Its just that when I was there you were allowed on it. There was loads of people on it.

In the monkey park in Nairobi you can feed them peanuts and they climb on your shoulder and all. They're cute but kinda scary when they just lunge at you and grab the pack from you with their little monkey hands. Like lightnin'!

My friend was bitten and actually bled, but she was grand. Traumatised I'm sure, but physically ok.

It's mad in Kenya, they're like cats they're so common in gardens and all. I never experienced any sexism from any of them I must say.

I saw a documentary on monkeys that eat fermented fruit to get drunk. And now they're alcoholics and steal cocktails from people that are drinking on beaches and stuff. So watch out for that... Maybe that's where these monkeys unacceptable behaviour is coming from.

2 hours it took me?

I'm getting slow.

I remember there was a government building in India and they were having huge problems with monkeys infesting the place... running about the place, ripping up documents and chasing women...

But the monkey is a sacred animal so they weren't able to harm them, so they eventually brought in bigger monkeys to get rid of the first bunch... I don't know how it went for them from there though.

Oh, thats the beautiful part...........once Winter rolls around, the bigger monkeys simpley freeze to death.

I was in Nepal a few years ago and we came across a troop of monkeys. Being that they have very nasty looking teeth and they had babies with them we gave them a somewhat wide berth. But one of the monkeys threw a lump of wood from the tree it was sitting in and hit my friend square in the head. It was a hell of a shot and really funny.

Not sure if it was the same documentary that I saw, but monkies have the same percentage of heavy, moderate and non-drinkers as humans, suggesting the genes related to alcholism are common.

Elephants will strip whole trees of marula berries to get drunk.

Um.. That doc also had alco bees on it, that get pissed on fermented pollen or something and fly all zig zag and accidentally try to get into the wrong hive and there are these burly bee bouncers outside that chase them away...

I wonder if any women has kicked one of those monkeys in the nuts yet? If they're evolving along like us, then they need to learn about payback as well.
