hi peeps

I posted about a month ago bout ants in my sisters house- well the little buggers have gotten to my house too. I have no idea where they came out of but i cant get rid of them.

i cant even sit at the kitchen table without them walking all over my food its gross and ive killed about 10 so far today but i dont kn0ow how to get rid of them all

I have poured bleach doen the holes they are coming outta and it seemed to stop them but now they are back. How do i get rid of them?????

leave a big pile of watered sugar on the floor, it's the food of gods for the little blighters, they will all pile into it and you can just stomp them to death, check it in the wee small hours and you will find a feeding frenzy

My dad suggested putting the line outside the front and back door but they are already in

Its getting to the stage lads where i cant even sit down to watch telly without seeing the scurrying across the floor and i hate it cos it makes me feel sick

i hear what your saying...I had the same problem last year and again a few weeks back,

once the weather starts to get warm, the daddy ant gets it on, and there's no stopping him!

I bought this stuff called ant-stop..its a small little round container that attracts them, they enter it and some kind of poison get stuck to their ant feet and they bring it back to the nest and it kills them back at their home.

the'res a white powdery stuff you can buy, to put down cracks in the ground or down places where they might be seeping in, like the back of the sink or where your water pipe may come through the ground.

we shall fight them on the beaches.....

Try the guys & gals over in Gardening & DIY.

Farting around with a piece of chalk won't help you now. The critters are in your house now & you need to get rid of them.

Any DIY store they should have a powder treatment specifically for killing ants. Read the instructions carefully.

Hill Billy is right.
At this stage I think you should go to your local hardware shop or garden centre and get Nippon dust or Nippon ant killer liquid, a small container will last for years . Follow their trail home to find the nest , lightly dust or place a few drops of the liquid on a flat piece of wood.
The ants will carry it into the nest, causing their activity to drop or stop altogether after 10 days.
Before you proceed carefully read the instructions for use and safety on these products. Once read, follow them.

This sounds stupid but trust me -

Furniture polish spray. Get's rid of the fúckers like nothing else.

I came home from work 2 years ago to find the cnuts had taken over the hotpress, were all over the house, didn't know what to do! Asked my neighbour for advice and she came over with furniture polish, sprayed everywhere they got with it, and within an hour or two, they were all gone, the odd dead ant here and there, but nothing to worry about.

Alternatively, hoover up some of that Nippon powder into a fresh bag, then hoover the little buggers up, and throw the bag bag out.

A query just occurred to me, which maybe some of the computer and electronics people on here might be able to answer.
What damage if any, can an ant/silverfish/dust mite/spider etc cause to a laptop or tower pc?
I'm thinking of things like crossing circuits and the like.

Try everything. It'll only get worse unless you nip it in the bud. We have them outside and every year they get closer to the house. Powder lines is all that separates us from them! Maybe with a bit of luck all that torrential rain will have flooded their hill and drowned the feckers!!
Or buy a bag of red ants. I've seen troops of either in all out war before! :eek:

i have had a full on serious infestation for the last couple of days now, normal ants and flying ants, thought they were flys (spelling) until i googled ants. the kitchen is fcuking swarming, tried doff ant powder and spray, they go for a few hours then bam; back again, im getting to the stage where im afrad to go into the kitchen for fear of getting bitten. anyone know of anything serious that can get rid of them, have tried the chalk line and furniture polish as well the stuff from the hardware and was going to post on home and garden but felt it didnt fit into the criteria so didnt want to piss off the mod.

We've a really bad ant problem here too, mostly because my housemates won't clean up after themselves. We use a spray that kills them instantly, then a powder that you put down and they carry it back to their nests and it kills the rest of them. Put it down around door and window frames.

it's B&Q own brand
he also got these little gel ant traps and put them behind the fridge and washing machine a couple of weeks ago and we haven't seen an ant since
