Non Sensical / abused phrases!

we're all guilty of using chliches and phrases that are annoying and non sensical. What ones get on your nerves the most?

To start off:

"Same Difference" - contradiction no?
"Verbal agreement" - Dont u mean oral agreement?

When the government talk about 'going forward and rolling out'.
In other words, 'yadayada rubbish we haven't really got a clue what we're talking about but we like to sound busy and proactive, yes you're still stuck on a trolley or moored on the M50, but at least we're going forward and rolling out!'

Also when people use business and government talk mumbo-jumbo, words and phrases like 'filing a report', 'faxing a report', 'drafting a report', 'drawing up new strategies', 'human resources', 'personel', etc. Overused puffs of air.

When someone is telling you a dramatic story of their confrontation with someone, and they explain how the other person said something controversial ooh! So they go: 'And I turned round to him and said...<insert comeback here>'... as if you had your back facing them all along.

Ad's are also guilty of rubbishy meaningless phrases:
For example, the quirky American accent in movie ad's (like the Rob Schnieder Derp de derp de diddly derp de derp ad in South Park...brilliantly sums up the mindless meaningless blundering movie ad jargon!). Observe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQNKfaXxrwE

not to be picky, but calling 'faxing a report' goverment/business mumbo jumbo is pushing the envelope a bit.

I'm suprised no one has mentioned that most abused of all phrases "Sour Grapes" (especially in sporting circles).

If a team lose a game and then complain about the ref, pitch, weather etc., that is not 'sour grapes'.

"Sour Grapes" should only be used in situations where, having lost a game, the players, then state that they didn't want to win in the first place and are better off without it.
