I spoke with your friend * Noel Barret * on the phone just now about nitro in stock.

This is what he has

15% Coolpower
25% coolpower

20% Coolpower HELI
30% Coolpower HELI.. :eek:

Guess which one I want..:rolleyes:

Anyway.
The Heli stuff he reccomended to help keep the Engines cool as he said that a heli engine is enclosed and needs this to keep it cool so would be suited to the TRX engines.

He said the Heli ones are all Syntethic
I looked on the Morgan website and saw this chart

I notice the 20% nitro one is quoted as being
20% Nitro
20% Lube
Viscosity Ultra High ( what does the viscosity part mean? )

The 30% has
30% nitro
22% Lube
and
Viscosity LOW..!

Now the good part about these fuels is that I can buy them locally and at €30 a gallon... :eek:

That is Half what I paid for the 20% Tornado and had to drive to Limerick :cool:

Yeah - it would be handy. At the moment we can get some bits from a european Traxxas agent . But they're not all already on the shelf which is what would be handier.

Noel down here said that thre is no market for the cars and trucks, and he only sells like 2 versions on the CEN onroad that he would have to order in if someone wanted one!

Just off the phone - turns out it was due to customer committments still in place with CEN .
CARSON are the main supported brand for Green Hobby, and at the time CEN were the number two.
The Green Hobby & Model customer support policy is that replacement parts are kept in stock for 24 months after sale of whole boxed cars, and the CEN parts committment was still in place last year so it was premature to add Traxxas as number two.
Storage space is limited and incurs rental costs.
To have a complete backup service with proper amounts of parts permanently in stock means that a maximum of two brands be supported. (There are some parts for other makes there too)
Last year it was Carson and CEN.
Next year will be CARSON and a new brand, but wouldnt confirm it would be Traxxas at this time.
He did confirm Traxxas are on the list, for what it's worth.

That would appear to be a straight up reply.
He is a professional and would know well how much spares backup counts for in these kinds of model - and by limiting the makes sold, he can have proper backup for the ones he sells.

Speaking of traxxas and model shops, I was in Waterford today but he only stocks a few parts for traxxas like the most likely to break etc. I picked up 2 upper suspention arms and 2 glow plugs, handy to keep around the place.

Anyway if you ever did stock traxxas coolwings it would be handy for all the Dubland traxxas racers, better than getting ripped off in planet fun.

isnt it possible to only keep like a truck or 2 from traxxas "on the shelf" and a box of spares like under the desk then have all teh rest of the models and parts stored upstairs? (if youre able to store stuff up tehre)

Right then I got this stuff a while back and tryed it on my engine, it over heated and wouldn't drive:( Anyone use this stuff? What are your views on it? Did it overheat or anything happen that shouldn't have to your engine? Could it be just because maybe my engine had an air leak?

I need to use this stuff as I only have a tiny bit in my normal stuff dyno glow 16%:( Please help:)

I never actually used Quickfire.
But I have made up fuels for racing that were very close in characteristics.
the strange thing is (assuming the nitro is the same):
engines should run cooler on quickfire than on dynaglow

So if you had Dynaglo 16% nitro 10% oil and no overheating
and then you used quickfire 16% 18% oil and got overheating,
I would guess that was the time when when your air seal gave up and this caused the overheating and not the fuel.

But a possible alternative is that the greater oil content of the new fuel fooled you into tuning it leaner to get the engine back up to the temperature you were used to with the earlier mix - and it just got a tad too lean?

It's all assumptions of course. But hopefully you can sense which fits the circumstances the best and figure it out.

I richened it but it keep overheating even tho its just idling. The model shop dude said it should actually cool it better than dynaglow, so maybe i'm looking at the reasons of maybe it had an airleak. I'll try it tomorrow and see how I get on.

It must have been the airleak that caused it.
I cant see how two 16% fuels from the same company could make that much of a difference ( I know they will have different mixes etc specifically for that purpose)
My problem with 16% MT was the Revo just refused to run on it.. Now the 3.3 will fly with the stuff.:rolleyes:

I can get Coolpower 25% for the same price..
Depends really on if I can keep the Revo front wheels on the ground or not using 25%
