I think you can swim with Fungi. He's the long established anti-social dolphin that hangs around Dingle.

To be honest I wouldn't swim with him, he's a big massive, menacing looking yoke and by nature dolphins are social animals...what the hell is he doing on his tod?

The irishdolphin site Magoo pointed you to gives you loads of info on known dolphins on the West Coast of Ireland who will tolerate humans in their space. It also has a lot of good advice for the safety of you and the dolphins. If you're going to do it, remember you're on their "patch" so at a massive disadvantage if you mess up in some way.

Fungi is simply the name given to any Dolphin seen anywhere in the vicinity of Kerry.
There are many Fungis. Its just that very occasionally, a dolphin will swim into Dingle bay and the crowds go wild. Usually around summer time. He/they was out last week in Dingle, but you can't really go swimming with him/them. Its the atlantic like. Its a big ocean, and its hard to keep up with a dolphin...

Swimming with dolphins (unless theyre in captivity which is pretty cruel) is a sort of American myth.

I swam with a Dolphin north of Lahinch, might have been Dusty. Very friendly, when it saw I was reluctant to rub it it swam repeatedly between my arm and my body until I got the message:P

I did it in Kaikoura in New Zealand as well. Unbelievable experience.

If it's unwanted sexual penetration, then it's rape no matter what species you are.

It looks like rape to us as humans but is not nessecarily the case in the animal kingdom.

End of the day Dolphins are wild animals not at all like Flipper. While I've heard of a lot of people swimming with the Dolphin near Lahinch it's not always been good.

There used to be this dolphin in fanore in co.clare that used to come into this little inlet thing and u used to be able to swim with him...he was only a young one so he wasnt too big...i swam with him a couple of years ago...cool experience allthough id say it wasnt that cool for the dolphin...probably lost from its group, and now being groped by the 20 od people trying to swim with him...lol....but yeah try fanore...
