Engine trouble

I tryed to start my engine a while back and it would not start, I assumed it was a problem with the fuel. Then yesterday I noticed there was no compression, I saw wd40 coming out from the edge of the piston and down the slieve. Thats a no no:(
Then I stripped my engine down and removed the piston and slieve to check if there was a tight seal between the pair but their wasnt:eek: I put the piston in the slieve and put it into the light and I could see light coming through the sides, I was gutted so I read the manual and it said the slieve and piston expands when the engine is hot, but how can it expand when I can,t start it.
Does anyone have any idea what to do? Any help appreciated:)

Do you need the other parts?

Remember - until you figure out how not to peen your piston-liner set, you must assume this will happen to all new engines you use.

But if you have worries about the other engine parts being also worn, then you may be right to replace the lot.

Seeing it has been run at extreme hot temps, on low lubrication at the same time, you should take a look at your conrod.
The crankshaft bearing boss in the lower end (of the conrod) may possibly have become oval in shape and a little loose.

I thought it might as its a very small gap, the only way you can see it is using
light. What if I baked it in the oven for a while, would it expand then?

may get dmaegged, fuel may go on fire but it probably will expand

All you can do is put extra oil in the fuel to seal the gaps.
A bit more nitro to raise the compression more.
Maybe a hotter glowplug to help raise compression too.

But these tricks won't provide a cure for long. Then it's back to the big "how to fix it" question again.

My engine came on monday just a week waiting and no vat. Anyway I have screwed on the ez start on the engine, so tight I can only get 1 of the 3 screws out. The allenkey keeps slipping and I cant get at it with a pliers or a vicesripes

Any ideas please, its not nessessery to take them out, its just for future maintanace.

Hold on.
You screwed the screews into which engine?
The old one or the new one?

If it is in the old one just drill the heads off them..
Maybe you could dremel a slot on the heads of them and remove them with a screwdriver?

yeah if you can get a dremel and a cutting disc with it, cut a line across the head like a flat head screwdriver, then use the screw driver to unscrew it, make it as deep as you can for more grip

How about a small hacksaw blade and lots of patience.. :rolleyes:

OR
When you have the Allen Key inserted..Gently tap the back of the allen key with a hammer or something solid while keeping it pressed hard into the head of the screw and turning it out at the same time.

put allen key in......squeeze glue in.....let it stick....then turn!!!! or put the allen key in and heat it till it expands, i dont know its s.h.c.
but hopefully for ya its low!

BUT
First get yourself a new allen key. the old one is bound to be rounded off by now.
You need a fresh allen key with sharp, precise edges if you are to have the best chance of shifting that bolt.
