Cherry Blossom:
Vino Pasta: STAY AWAY. Three times I've eaten there in the last 6 years. Three times I've received the wrong food, three times they've put stuff on the bill we never ordered. I've also heard of customers being short-changed. Food is okay though. Service terrible.
Jokers (Take away): Don't. Just dont.
Bel's: It's my mother-in-law's favourite (because of the smoking area at the back), so we go quite a bit. The food is good, and the portions generally are large. Service is patchy. One waiter in particular is a grumpy sod (you'll know him the second you see him!). Reasonable value. On our first visit there, one of us had ordered ice cream for dessert. Was interesting to see a chef then run across to SuperValue and return with a block of HB Vanilla!
Indian Spice (take away): Love it. Everything is freshly prepared and if you have nothing better to do for the 30-40 minutes it takes to get your food, you can always look into the kitchen and watch the process! Only gripe is they tend to add an individual twist to every dish, so be careful what you ask for!
Pineto Classico (Take Away): Your standard takeaway, does everything you'd expect and it's all good (except the batter burgers, which aren't very nice!). I go there for my weekly fix of Southern Fried Chicken!
Opresco: Over the Beach House, this place has gone through several incarnations in the last few years. It's not great, but it's not bad. Portions are good, but the food is average. One thing I did notice when we were there was that it seemed to be full of teenage couples (except us, of course!).
Coffee Shop in Tesco: Meh. Average. Only worthwhile if you want to give your feet a break after following wifey around the supermarket while she compares nutrional values of everything in the store!

It's the Jokers of chinese takeaways. 'Nuff said. Never ever had a bad experience there in the past five years. The Filetto al Pepe is wonderful, and the fish cake starters are great, I rarely order anything else anymore. And the white chocolate creme brulee is lovely. Damn right. Nail, head, wallop. Haven't ever had better indian food in Ireland. Love the Murgh Saagwala, it's always perfectly done. It's also won Bridgestone awards three years running. Didn't know you could watch in the kitchen, wouldn't mind doing that (it always struck me as being a bit akward for the chefs while they work, not to mention dangerous, since you have a lot of sharp things, hot things, and chefs working under pressure). Grand for a quick burger and chips, better than Jokers by a country mile, but it's strictly a "need fuel for fire, no time to cook" sort of deal. Is it still called Opresco? Was better as Coopers. The new decor is a bit too naff, I miss the old look. Good seafood. Paullo "the annoying runt" tuillio raved about it in an earlier incarnation. Not sure why anyone would even bother to be honest. That said - the Tesco itself has a decent range of stuff, the bakery is okay if only cooking for a small window, and the butcher's longside the coffee shop is quite good. For spices&herbs though, Nature's Gold down by the DART station is far better.
