I'm pretty sure Revelations says that 666 is the "number of the name of The Beast", The Beast being The Antichrist as opposed to Satan. If I remember correctly it describes his birth as a parody of that of Christ and Satan (refered to in the passage as a serpent) tries to eat him as he's born but then they join forces or something. There's some weird description of him as part leopard as well I think. And also does anyone else know anything about the whole "seven heads with seven horns" thing? I'd heard that seven was God's number as well as he always did things in sevens like creating the world in the course of a seven day week.

In Japan the number 4 is also considered unlucky. The number 4 and the word for death are both pronounced "Shi", hence the association with bad luck...this is probably the same for the Chinese, as a lot of words in Japanese have phonetical similarites to Chinese.

Yeah there's no number 13 in my housing estate, it jumps from 12 to 14. Hard to believe people take this thing seriously.

I was going to mention that 4 is pronounced the same as death. My gf tells me that they dont have driving regs that end with 4, or phone numbers that end in 4. But apparently houses are fine
