Ive been for what is known as a 'scrape' i wont go into detail but believe me its as bad as it sounds! Lol that tests you for all sti's etc but obviously you wont be gettin that! Lol id say you most likely Wee in a jar or if doc has any reason to suspect serious infection/symptoms then id say bloodtest/ referal to local clinic/hospital if things look shadey. But please dont worry. id urge you to go just to be safe..

as a naive 18 year old, i tried to chat up a hooker in Dublin one night. i didn't know she was a hooker and i was really drunk. my friends were across the road, pissing themselves laughing.

and lundimardi is right. my friend recently went for an STD test and had a swab of some sort inserted into his japs eye.

This is why the number of people with STI's in Ireland is so high and getting higher every year.

Reasons like "Nah I don't need to cos I don't shag slappers" is really quite naive. If you know anything about sexual health and STI's you'll know that it only takes that one time, it can sometimes happen while a condom is used and a lot of the time you or your partner may not even know you have anything because there are often no symptoms.

Oh and insurance going up because of having an STI check is absolute rubbish btw.

I've never been tested, I don't think I'm at high risk, but I would really like to get checked, and have been meaning to for ages, for peace of mind.

Could somebody please post where and when you can get STD tests in Dublin (and cork and galway etc etc if you know it) preferably for free.

Let's clean up this sess pit of dirty feckers and all get checked!!

Been tested twice before, it's not particularly pleasant (especially for someone like me who's scared of doctors) but it's just being sensible about your health to get checked.

Your local gp should be able to do it and then they send em off to the victoria hospital. cost should be only what you usually pay ur doc.

however i've given blood numerous times and they check that for all std's and let you know if anything turns up.
