should they be buried together?

I read in the paper yesterday about the funeral of that mad woman that killed both her boys and then herself. It said "tragic mum" was to be buried with both her kids. It got me thinking - if it were a man that killed his two sons, would they use to word "tragic", or the world "psycho"? Would they bury a man beside two boys that he murdered? Surely not... why is this?

Exactly. If it were a man I'm sure all the women(including Shock_Treatment though she may deny it) would be calling him a psycho, a lunatic etc and you can be damn sure all the guys wouldn't be defending him.

Thanks for the link. But that article seems to be saying that the reason women earn less is because they tend to go for lower paid positions in the first place, and they don't tend to be as geared toward career advancement/money as men.

Surely that's an individual perspective that every woman needs to revise for herself?

In the article I've linked to I realise that there are many reasons for women earning less but discrimination is still a factor. I've given an example and backed up my original point so I aint gonna drag this out.

The woman was a mother and a wife, she was obviously physiologically unwell, it is not up to us, most of who don’t know the family. To decide weather or not she is buried with her kids or whatever that is totally the family’s choice, namely the grieving father. People who have suffered depression or similar problems know that 'some' choices made during depressive moments don’t always in anyway reflect the person 99% of the rest of the time,

May they all rest in peace.

Think you'd have the same attitude if you were the husband and everything that you held dearest was taken away in an extremely violent and bloody manner?

'Mad' no. 'depressed' no. Chronically depressed to the point of psychotic episode yes. My sister was at the funeral yesterday, and shes really cut up with it, and trying desperately to come to terms with it.

I agree with you whole-heartedly that the children done nothing to deserve it, nothing does excuse it.

But psychological factors cannot be ignored. Im going to leave it there out of respect for the family.

I do not see why she should not be buried with her kids, would say the same if it was a father who was in the same position. She must have been deeply disturbed and while it may be hard for a while for her poor husband to get over this tragedy (especially seeing her grave beside that of their kids) in the end I deeply hope that it will be a healing process - I can not imagine that he could cope with it if he does not forgive her. Was deeply touched to see that he helped carry his wifes coffin. RIP to them all.

Who are you to decide where she gets buried? Surely its up to the husband tand the family to decide where she is buried. THe papers, the general public had no say in where she was going to be buried, the husband did.

SO he clearly has no problem with her being buried with her kids. So i am sure he has no problem being reminded when he visits all three graves.
