memory foam mattress

I've been thinking of getting one for a while now, and in all my searching around, this site seems to be the cheapest... but it also seems to be a bit dodgy.

They basically don't offer a returns policy, but for the price it seems too good to pass on.

Anyone know anything about this company - anyone bought a bed from them?

We have these vacuum packed mattress in Italy since the late '90 and you can find it in any cheap shop as Tesco in ireland.
The price in italy for a single bed mattress is around 80€ and they are perfect.
I have one in italy that i have bought 5 years ago and is still firm and very good.
I was looking for the same mattress here in Dublin but i didn't found it... and who sell this mattress via web in uk ask too much money, cause believe me it's a very cheap mattress and technology is very old and well known.... there is nothing new in a vacuum packed mattress.

Somebody know a place in dublin where i can buy one with 100€ ??

I have one of these types of mattresses and they are amazing.

The packing is great. Be careful not to cut it though when trying to cut through the plastic, apparently alot do it by accident. I opened mine in the afternoon and was sleeping on it that night.
I would advise you use a mattress protector, as I found mine a little 'sweaty' at first.

One word of warning - you might find it harder to leave in the morning!

mrpillow.co.uk is another. I got a superking size there and got him to throw in two memory pillows into the deal too.

Anyone bought one from this crowd? i'm going to get a new mattress in the next couple of weeks and was thinking of these. the feedback on their ebay store seems ok.

they said postage to ireland would be £45stg. that'd work out at under 300euro for a memory foam mattress.

Yeah one the the serious test magazines in Germany analysed different types of mattresses for harmful substances like solvents, metals, etc
And one of the comments made regarding sprung mattresses was the fact the the springs can get magnatized and then influence the natural magnetic field in your bed room... similar (weaker, but a lot closer) to the magetic field that your bedroom TV or stereo creates.

other people will tell you the orientation of your bed is important to follow some energy lines...

This is now really OT, and btw, I don't really believe in that - all I want is a comfy bed that supports my back properly.

If it was true memory foam and it came rolled - whould it remember that and one night it would just roll back and you're trapped inside :-) sorry - just couldn't resist...

On a serious note though, I am looking for a new matress myself on the continent After making the "mistake" to buy a bed with shabitat - I need a metric one.
And over there the majority of serious online shops don't sell rolled mattresses. They claim the only advantage is cheaper posting, but its not good for the mattress. (like putting a speaker onto your pocketsprung mattress will magnetize the metall and negatively influence the magentic field that you sleep in - but that is really OT now.

In addition buying a mattress without trying it is a bad idea. While you can't judge after 5 min whether a particular bed is comfortable in daily use, you can judge whether you agree with the feeling of particular mattress types. I for one hate the feel sleeping on a pure foam mattress.

I wouldn't buy a rolled mattress, but that's personal choice. But then again I'm contemplating importing a 1200€ matress that costs 150€ shipping after fling over to try it.

I have a couple of budda bags made with memory foam which came vacuum-packed, they filled out no problem and are grand.
However I'm not sure about a mattress coming that way.
I have a king koil bed with springs and memory foam on the top, came as is and is a fantactic bed.

If I do the old sliding thumb trick would you be impressed?

That idea is about 30 years old. Lot of modernist foam furniture came packed in a similar manner.

It's a bit weird the way memory foam is spoken about now. I guess something new must have happened or it's just marketing
