Anybody ever do this?
I'm dyin to go for a few pints tonight but all my friends are feckin broke and won't go out :mad: I'm almost tempted to go for a few on me own, but thought that'd be kinda weird. So just wonderin, would/do you ever go drinkin on your own?

Wouldnt have the guts tbh! In theory id love to think i could but... nope. Wouldnt you be bored without anyone to chat to? Altho you could get chatting to other people there... id say if you think you have the guts then go for it... how bad!

I've done it a few times. It can be slightly depressing, but I normally get chatting to someone.

I don't think it means you're an alco' or anything like that!

The Mezz is a good place to meet people if you're drunk/alone/etc.

I'd only do it if I was going to watch a match in a pub or something. At least that would keep me occupied, think it'd be too boring otherwise. Old men are great for it though, you always see them alone at the bar!

I've had a drink or two while waiting for people to arrive but I dont know if I'd go out on my own to have drinks.

Ive done it once, but it was straight away after an event in my life I want to forget... found the smallest darkest pub possible in town and went on the shorts all day...

i dunno about doin it for the craic on a Saturday night! but ya never know ya might meet the girl of your dreams!!

I have a tendancy to go out on my own, but randomly meet loads of people. Often had the best nights on my own, and meeting randomers, depends on how...social... you get though. Shur, plan for 2 pints, and see how it goes. You can always ring other people when you get to the pub like! Or go to a gig. There's usually loads on on a sat night.

My take on it is: better to regret something you've done than haven't done!

Worst case scenario you have a hangover the next day, and your wallet is a little lighter. Best case scenario you wake up with a young one next to you (etc etc.)

Yea, if you want a few pints then go for it.

I wouldn't see the problem in going to a pub on your own -- I've done it a fair few times and can't remember one of them where I was still on my own by the end of the night. Usually meet some interesting people.. usually good nights.

Sitting on your own in the corner and knocking back the vodka all night is a different story.

yeah i never understood that. my mates and i always sit in the bar rather than the lounge because we're boring people who like to sit and have a pint without too many people around. there's always 5 or 6 old men sitting facing away from each other at random intervals. i don't understand why they don't just talk to each other

Once in a while its prob ok to sit at home with a can or two but it's prob not the best idea!

I wouldn't be brave enough. I'd spend my time worrying that the bar staff and other people thought I was a loner.

It'd be ok if there was a match on but not on a weekend night.

Wouldn't usually do it but did recently in Dubai as my mate had to go somewhere quickly but all ended well as i got talking to a few birds and ended up bringing one back to my pad and giving her the large one
