And the answer is - no she didn't. According to the story - after a garda warning that she'd be arrested if she stripped, she kept her 'bra and thong' on...though it looked like a bikini to me in the photo.

Anyway some free publicity for whatever they were protesting about, something to do with cruelty to circus animals I believe.

Eh I don't really see how it draws attention to animal cruelty.
She does that and all it was was a surprise thrill for any guy walking past.
Apart from that unless she had some banner or whatever or the person read the paper then all they know is she's involved in animal cruelty awareness.
They know nothing of the current causes or cases she's rallying for.
Or am I missing something?

Yeah they are carrying banners that are visible in the photo, name of their group is also mentioned in the story. The prospect of a naked protestor drew the national press to cover this, i guess it's the old advertising adage that 'sex sells'! There were even stories in the local and national press in the days before the protest.

So I would say the protest drew a lot more attention to their cause than if they'd simply paraded up shop street with banners. There are groups with banners promoting various causes on Shop St all the time but they get little if any press coverage...maybe this will lead to a whole new era of 'naked protests' !!!

But it drew more attention because she was gonna be doing it nuder i.e. people were there to see nudity.Not to get involved with their causes.

Yep that's my point. It was their intention to get peoples' interest going with the nudity thing and maybe some of those people would also stop to read their banners/ literature. They wouldn't have got any press attention had it been the usual group of clothed protestors with placards.

I remember seeing this video about these elephant trainers in a circus using blow torches on their feet to get them to do stuff. ****ing awful sounds they were making. Think it was on some PETA site.
