What should I do tonight?

Heading out to meet a female friend, and wondering does anybody have anything interesting to do?

I live close to town so I should have plenty of options aside from sitting in watching a DVD or something, but I just can't seem to think of anything.

grub flick pub you could do one or all three. This is dublin so dont expect much variation!

Nothing offensive... Im just making the points that as regards live music/ other kinds of performances and cultural events, Dublin doesn't compare well to to other cities, and also the small nature of the city doesn't allow for much variation in the venues (pubs) you tend to go to...

dinner, catch a film in UGC (cineworld now, apparently) and then grab a few drinks in the bar there. Or maybe head to a bar/club.

Well, I think Dublin is absolutely fantastic for live music and compares very well to other cities in that regard. Pretty much every band that tours, comes to Irela,d if they come to Ireland, they come to Dublin.

Yeah pretty much the main things i'd ever do when taking a girl out..either grab a bite/ go for a meal...go to the cinema...get a dvd, couple of bottles of wine & cook a meal (and a cozy cuddle on the sofa after

)...or the old reliable..PUB!

Never really vary from that much...Not very imaginative i'll admit!

What about Funderland? Sounds lame, but it'd be funny, a bit of craic goin on all the stupid rides!

Other than that (and it's a bit late now) you could go to a concert...or even a comedy gig...

I dunno, there must be loads of stuff to do in this city...I just can't think of much

It's like carnaval/amusement park thing that comes to Dublin every year...it's set up in the RDS and opens on St.Stephens day and is on for about 2 weeks...I think it goes to cork or somewhere aswell...

It's mostly kiddie rides, spinning cups, haunted house and the like..but has some cool stuff too, like bumper cars (everyone loves those!! or dodgems, whatever they're called) and some turn you upside down and spin you around type rides!! Havn't been there in years so i don't really know

...

It's also got a free fall ride that drops you a couple of hundred feet or something, looks pretty cool, i can see it from my house! On a simular ride about 5 years ago a girl died in funderland when the safety bar on her seat failed and she plunged to her death...also this year it got stuck and the fire brigade had to be called..I'd say that one is great craic!

Thanks for the suggestions, dinner or drinks are not an option tonight unfortunately. I totally forgot about UGC! Funderland is an interesting option.

was out there on the end of the pier one time with a girl, totally just sitting on the pier nothing else. but we were sitting on a the bench thing by the sea and next thing some pervy old man came out you know the bald kind, and sat behind us, fuppin weirdo my gf thought he was trying it on was a bit freaked out, you could hear him breathin and everything, must have gotten pissed off cos he just left when he saw there was no action...

The moral of the story is never have sex on dun laoighre pier, old people could be watching:D and want to join you:eek:
