Did anyone on Boards go last night? Got tickets for tonight.. How long did they play?/Were they good, etc.? What about the supporting band?

Oh, and what time did Oasis come on at?

Shack are like a really bad version of "The Coral" or "the Zutons". Oasis rocked,,,seriously. At the end there was a massive mosh to "My Generation", great gig. Particularly enjoyed the oldies, couple of songs of Whats the story... Noel played the Masterplan for the first time ever in Ireland, majestic

have to say very disapointed - they had no interest. im ragin they didnt play supersonic r dyo wat i mean. d crows were singin ole ole ole as we do, and noel was tippin his watch sayin r yiz finished. if i had have been close i wuda have bottled him :mad:

my advice 2 anyone goin get in early to either get pit band r swap 4 seated tickets

i love der new album best in years but they were better back in the day when liam was a wild man :cool:

I thought it was a great show. Masterplan, Acquiesce and Live Forever alone worth the price of admission...

Shack brought out their first single in 1989 so they can hardly be classed as a cover version of The Coral or The Zutons, more like the other way around.

The Masterplan has been played live in Ireland before. Two places that spring to mind are the Cork gigs in 1996 and Belfast at the weekend.

I still don't know what to make of the gig.

They came on shortly after 9, and were over by 10:30, I thought quite a short set.

Also think that the start and finish to the gig weren't great. Why in the heck does a band with such a rich catalogue of songs need to finish with a cover version, is beyond me. Although it did work very well with the lights on, place went bananas.

The middle section of the gig was out of this world though, champagne supernova, masterplan, live forever etc etc - unreal fun.

Also i thought they could play a little acoustic set, but that wasn't to be.

Any way, minor gripes, all in all a tremendous performance, Liam tres cool on stage. How he can stand so still for entire songs is remarkable! His singing was very loud, very impressive

I was there last night and I thought it was a great gig overall. Acquiesce in particular was outstanding and it was good to hear the Masterplan again (I was in Pairc Ui Caoimh all those years ago). Despite a stinker of a cold and a not-quite-better-yet knee injury, I enjoyed it (although I did give the mosh pit a miss) Going again tonight and looking forward to it.

Oh, and fair balls to Liam for dedicating Live Forever to George Best.

Another good performance last nite,couldnt fault them except it was the exact same set as marley park except for one tune,i've seen gigs of this tour on tv aswell so i know the setlist off by heart at this stage so it wasnt anything new to me..Highlight was prob the masterplan just cuz its probably the first time ive heard it live..Liam seemed in great form..

im just after discovering this web site so i thought i stick my opinion down on the oasis gig...

in one word: MEGA
brilliant performance, they tend to underperform in the point but no messing around last night, just full on rock n roll. highlights included the masterplan, aquesce, songbird, liveforever. if you can get a ticket for tonight do so, if last night is anything to go by, your in for a stormer!:)

What an absolutely incredible gig!!! Oasis are without a doubt the best live band I've seen. They were on form all night. Been there with them playing The Masterplan is a moment I'll never forget. The songs off the new album fitted perfectly around the old classics and were not out of place. Highlights of the night were The Masterplan, Bring It On Down, Morning Glory, Acquiesce, Champagne Supernova, Rock 'N' Roll Star, Don't Look Back In Anger and a chaotic My Generation. Only hiccups were the mic (I think) waning during Live Forever (Liam was pissd off big time) but the crowd saved the song and Mucky Fingers I thought sounded poor. However only minor hiccups they were, the gig was amazing, Liam has the most incredible stage presence and Zak Starkey...... what an incredible drummer! - who's Ringo I ask?

Shack? The crowd never gave them a chance. Once they walked on stage the crowd wanted them off. I thought they were ok, not outstanding but not poor but the attitude of the crowd in the pit towards them annoyed me big time.

It is being knocked down, Jan 07. And its not the sound system, as that is Oasis' equipment, its the design. Originally it was a train depot so there are no natural acoustics and the fact the roof is just a sheet of metal, covered by fabrics so it looks half decent, is not going to help the sound.

Are they actually knocking down the building? I thought it was going to be a refurbishment. Anyway I won't shed any tears if they knock it down.

Yeah, the sound system in the Point is muck. If you're any further than half way from the stage, you can hear everyone around you talking away.

Well they are gutting it completely and starting again; increasing the capacity to about 14,000 standing and improving the acoustics and surrounding facilities. the plan is to create a complete entertainment centre with a cinema, apartments, a shopping centre and other such crap, in the area.

Thought the gig last night wasn't quite as good as the night before (I was guarding my dodgy knee more closely, so less jumping up and down!), but still very enjoyable. And they did play Talk Tonight instead of The Masterplan.

No, Masterplan definitely wasn't played that night. As far as I know the only time it was played in Ireland was in Cork in 96.

I think that bootleg is missing a few tracks, Wonderwall for one.
