I'm trying to unlock my wife's Siemens C45, which is locked to Orange at the moment. From what I'd found out so far, I needed a data cable, so I bought one on eBay, which arrived this morning.:) But seeing other posts, I wonder whether it's the correct one

The 9-pin D-type connector for the PC end of things says 'Siemens for/pour/fur RS-232' and the phone end says 'N6' on the side and has all 12 pins present. Is this the correct cable?

I've downloaded some free software which says it can unlock the phone with a cable, but it doesn't seem to be able to find the phone - or at least it says it's waiting for the phone to be powered on, then after ten seconds or so it says 'phone is not powered on':( I;ve tried both leaving the phone off, and powering it on during this 10 second wait, but it seems to make no difference. The software is from modifications.net.

Anybody got any ideas they can offer? Or anybody know other (hopefully free) software which will definitely work?

afaik it says restricted when its locked. it says something else when you've used up your tries. i could be wrong though. pm wolfman. he can unlock a 6101

It is a Nokia 6101. I used Nokiafreeunlock.com. Tried once and it told me it was restricted. I can only assume that the person who owned it before me had tried unlocking it before I got it. Do you know of anywhere that can do it by cable. Im in Dundalk

Yes. Insert a sim card and enter the code.

If anyones interested I've found the below codes and was able to unblock my Samsung.

1- Enter code *7465625*28782# without a sim in the phone
2- Phone will display "Auto Subset Lock: Activated!"
3- Enter code *7465625*28638# without a sim again
3- Phone will display "Auto Network Lock: Activated!"
4- Now insert the sim and enjoy! Phone is Unlocked!

Does anyone know how to unblock the Samsung V500Z? Its presently blocked to the Vodafone Network but I want to use the phone with O2. I had a quick look on google and this thread but can't find anything. Please help.

The v535 needs to be cable/hardware unlocked. The only way you will get codes for it is if you have spent enough money with your network.

Hi, oh the 3220 is registered to me but I never used any of the credit on that phone - Used it all with my new 3230 which I bought eBay sim free. They have no way of knowing this though. Doubt they care as any mug who spends 375 Euros on GPRS can get as many phones unlocked as they like :-)

Actually a good point! The Meteor one is a good bit cheaper than the Vodafone one... about €40 I think

"cannot undo restriction" means you have entered too many wrong codes. All you can do is try O2 now or pay to have it unlocked using hardware solution
