Being Affectionate in Public

Every girlfriend Pigheads ever had has always been the type to slobber and drool all over him in public. I fcuking hate this behaviour. Theres a time and a place for everything love, get off me. Imagine if the lads came around the corner and seen Pighead in a lovey dovey clinch.The reputation i've built up over 28 long years would be in tatters.

Whenever I see a couple kissing in the streets for a period of longer than 10 seconds I feel a rage build inside,I also tend to want to vomit. These losers are basically saying "Oh everybody,Look how un-single we are,we're so great" Low self esteem all round.

How do the boardsters feel about smoochy woochies in public?

its a great thing to see, true love although little scangers or students nearly riding each other in public is another thing altogether with their 'leathery apendages flapping in the wind' - that makes me quite ill indeed.

i'm all for pda's(public display of affection)-kissing someone is totally natural and lovely so why shouldnt ya do it in public. As long as its not a full on passionate session then its like-get a room!

Good looking girls never engage in this behaviour. It does indeed put up a "how not single am i flag" which lowers the attention you get. Good looking girls love the attention they get and mingers crave the attention they get(hence..public affection).

I really think the people here who seem to get quite angry about trivial things like this are quite frankly neurotic, and there seems to be quite a frequent number of people like this. I honestly think that if you "Feel a rage build inside" over something that has nothing to do with you at all, you probably need professional help.

Gotta agree.
PDAs are fine, as long as they are together.
It's a different scenario when they do it in front of others whom they were interacting with:
eg: a mate and his gf out with myself and other friends.... we all chatting around a table in pub, then he makes some remark that his gf loves, and they get all touchy feely and start eating the face of one another.
Have some self control please

Thats not true at all!if you like somone you'll want to kiss them whenevr you can,regardless of how hot or not you are. I find also thats often the opposite-all the good looking guys ive been out with have always been very affectionate in public,but any not so attractive guys ive been out with are always less affectionate and more embarrased in public.

Ah your probably right Karl Hungus, Pighead is at a loss to explain his sudden bouts of rage and anger. Just last night I headbutted some lad in Galway after I heard him bragging that he was the bestest thing ever to happen to boards.ie and that all the rest of the posters were tossers. What a punk.

Perhaps a professional is exactly what I need. Although I remember Naomi Campbell tried a Rage therapist a few years ago and it made absolutely no difference to her problems. Pighead cant afford to go wasting his hard earned cash.

In general it seems that lads are a lot more uncomfortable than girls with this type of public affection. When a girls friends see her being lovey dovey with her fella they think its cute and fluffy and all things nice. When a fellas buddies see him canoodling and being soppy they tend to laugh point and ridicule and call him a big jessy.

Girls think before you cuddle. The streets are for fighting not for loving.

we were talking as well and we stood well back from the bus stop and I may not see him till the 30th and he kissed me first.It never bothered me when I was single or any of my single friends

its that when I see him on the 30th that could be the last time i see him for months as my mam is a psyhco.I'm not mad into commitment myself it freaks me out but i won't be able top even talk to him unless its face to face.

urrrm was there not a thread about this quite recently? Maybe I dreamed but here's my two cent again anyway!

Basically I don't care most of the time. If I'm walking through the street or park and there's a couple kissing or holding hands I don't mind. I do it meself in the pub or whatever.

The only time it bothers me is if there's a group of people maybe 4 or 5 and 2 are a couple and they start meeting each other right in the middle of a conversation. If they're in "the can't keep their hands off each other phase" (that expression makes me want to vomit but it is the general excuse trotted out in these situations) they should jus f*cking go somewhere else. It's just pure attention seeking and is an absolute screech when they're broken up the next week and look like a right pair of tw*ts.

whitewashman suggests that while his own displays of affection in public are his business, that getting annoyed over others is simply a stupid waste of his time.

if pighead reads 'Oh everybody,Look how un-single we are,we're so great' into some people kissing, then it might be suggested that some people that pighead has some intimacy issues...

personally i neither worry about what others are doing, and may they be happy doing whatever it is they are doing, nor worry about people who get upset over what i do.

being dependent on the opinions of strangers to make yourself feel good is pointless.
