What Do You Do In The Evening's With Your Partner?

First off, please don't crack off the usual sexual innunendo's. I'm sorry if this thread has been done recently- but it's a difficult one to check without the search option. If this is in the wrong forum, I don't think it is, please feel free to move it mods!!

OK, so I've living with my girlfriend for the last while now, less than a year. We used to live in Rathmines, which had a great buzz, but moved out to Balbriggan, which is a tad more sedate.

So my question is, with the coming colder, darker nights, what do you guys do to entertain yourselfs, keep yourselfs amused in the evenings. I'm mainly looking for idea's, as I can't seem to think beyond the obvious ones I've listed below.

Lovemaking
Watching a movie
Having a romantic candlelit dinner
Going to the pub
Going to the cinema
Taking a walk
Having a hobby (difficult, she likes to do most things together)

And that's it. That's how utterly unoriginal I am. Anyone have any good suggestions? I'd like to make her as happy as possible and keep her entertained!

Try doing a few of these together for interesting results.

Other than that, a frivilous(sp?) game of hide and seek will keep you occupied for hours.

Or you could take up Yoga or meditiation or something like that and you could both do it in the evening.

when i had a woman, we used to watch a bit of telly and have the usual chat about what happened in our day. We would also watch a movie at home and last year we used the open fire so i was nice to watch the movie with a nice fire we done some cooking together.

Take some kind of class together? Dance Classes can be good fun. Or if that doesn't float your boat, maybe something like a photography or wine-tasting course etc.?

Hmnnn some good suggestions folks!! Keep 'em coming! I particuarly like the idea of taking up photography Sleepy! It can be quite scenic out here- so not at all a bad suggestion!

Back by public demand, Stephanie repeats her hugely popular presentation on the story of the Hamiltons of Hampton Hall, the dynasty that developed Balbriggan from a tiny hamlet to the major industrial and business centre of Fingal in the 19th century. This was also the basis for the Society’s latest publication which was launched last September. Hopefully, by now you have bought your copy and have read it to help bring tonight’s lecture alive.

All lectures, presentations and slide shows, will be held again this year at the Bracken Court Hotel, George's Square, Balbriggan at 8.30pm

Why don't you both join a gym nearby?

That way you can go together without necessarily having to do everything together... eg she can take a class, you can have a swim, or you can pound the treadmills while she relaxes in the sauna.

Most good gyms have lots of different classes on, its a good way to meet other people, and you will both be fit and toned in not time! Result!

If she likes soaps and you hate them,as is usually my situation,watch all of em with her and get her to try games or whatever with you.

Myself and my giirlfriend have started going skiing/snowboarding once a week in Kilternan Ski Club. I'd never done it before until this year. A lesson is €32 for beginners. If you know what you're doing then its €24 for 3 hours on the slopes. That includes equipment and everything.

We're also starting to play tennis once a week with friends. Have a game of mixed doubles on the indoor courts.

Other than that we watch alot of movies, chat, go out to dinner. We also spend alot of times in other friends apartments. Play her PS2 sometimes. Its important to constantly try new things and get out and be active together. Staying in and repeating the same routine gets boring and depressing after a while. Go out and get involved in group activities, rock climbing, surfing, whatever floats your boat really.

Makes spending time together much more fun.

he works nights and theres also the matter of living in different counties. But at weekends we stay in-dvd, take away etc

Occasionally: beat each other up in a halo death match/ watch a movie/ have a glass of wine.

Really, after 3 years, thats about all we have time for. A lot of that has to do with having a child though. We try to keep one night a fortnight to have some time just to ourselves, and go out for a meal & a walk. We go out with mates independently & together, and have people over quite a bit. He's also got band practise/gigs.

Hmnn not a bad idea, but I don't think there are any ski slopes around the Balbriggan area!!! Plus it's coming into winter and it's cold and dark by the time I get home.

True. It's most definetly good to keep things fresh and interesting and to try out new things.

Funnily enough she's not too big into TV, a bit of a pain in the ass. I have slowly been turning her into a film buff though, and she got her UGC card last sunday! Woo Hoo! But that has to be more of a weekend thing though.
