OK the new Agros catalog was released in the last two weeks or so and i just have to hand it too them.... ITS HUGE.
The bible doesn't have a thing on this like!

My question is how in gods name do they fit every item into their stores!

The new Catalog is roughly 1600 Pages of products.
I've adveraged each page at containing 10 items.
Thats 16,000 Items!

AND of course Agros always have at least 3 of each product in before they re-order so that brings the grand tally to around..... emmmmm.....

48,000 ITEMS

How?!?!?!...... J-Just..... HOW!?!?!?

Personally i reckon the main Argos store room is situated at the Earths core and a clever network of tunnels and tubes do the rest......

Does anyone know? Like an employee of Argos or something?

they wouldn't have everything in stock in the shops, for example "the home delivery items only" (garden furniture, pool tables etc.) would not be stocked in store.

They don't. The stuff marked "extra" is only available in select few stores or to order. So a lot of the new stuff isn't available in the normal stores (at least, not the ones near me because they're not "Extra" stores).

Also what cremo mentioned (home delivery stuff).

There are "home delivery only" marked products, which are delivered to your house, direct from the warehouse in the UK.
The Extra lines are stocked in store by Argos Extra stores, which are all the new stores, such as Wexford, Cavan etc. Other smaller stores dont have the capacity to facilitate Extra products, so they are "ordered in" from the warehouse as "CSO's"- Customer Special Order's, which usually takes about 4 days. They are then kept for the customer for a minimum of 2 days to a maximum of 10 days instore, after which, they are not collected, they are sent back to the UK

What they dont want you to know is that they dont stock anything.
In each and every store there are hundreds of oompa loompa like workers.
They work immensly quickly when an order comes through to build the order from scrap.
If an item is out of stock it usually means the designer of said item is out on sick leave, home delivary items are only marked home delivary to get the extra 30 euro from delivering said item.

They would know exactly what products are most popular and the best sellers and hence keep ample stocks, for the others often you cant get what you want and have to order it in... You can be sure from years of trading they have the "Just in Time" ordering system nailed down to a fine art. Probably getting twice daily deliveries, all computerised ordering etc.. also those little checking machines are guaranteed to be link to a central system to log product popularity etc etc.. Simple really

get one delivery every night mon-fri. and no they dont just stock the most popular items. there is a list of the top 100, but thats it. there can be lots of one product in stock that might only sell once a month.

You'd be surprised how easily you'd fit 48,000 items into a well-organised warehouse.

Remember that vast bulk of items are small or disassembled.

id say they dont have half the items in the catelogue, cause you have to put in the number of the product to check if they have any in stock. Id say that goest to a database and then they know whats the most popular.
I remember being in there once and wanting a to buy a couple of products, serveral of them "were not in stock".

there is no database!!! theres only a top 100, dont you people believe me. Several of your products may not have been in stock, cos they were sold out. Ever think that may happen?
a none Extra stockroom, will facilitate all Non-Extra, Non Home delivery items.
an Extra stockroom, will have all Extra and Non extra products, but again not the home delivery stuff.

heavy electrics and premade furniture is stored in the local warehouse for select items and the central warehouse for everything else.

yeah but the heavy electrical stuff can be ordered in as a SUI product. The stock room, still facilitates those.
