Going to Dublin tomorrow..What to do?

I have to go to Dublin on business tomorrow. Thing is the meeting wont last more than a half hour, seems a pity to waste such a drive. Can anyone suggest something nice to do (accompanied by my other half) for the day?

I was thinking Zoo maybe? Anyone have any other suggestions?

also the wax musuem on parnell square is a nice trip back in time :0

Ack, too oldskool for me... I'm 19.
Although the memories of the wax museum will never leave me.. Crawling through those creepy tunnels (Or were those just bad dreams?! :eek: )

There was only one tunnel last time I was there. Dark and creepy.

I hate the wax museum anyway.

I remember a candid camera with Mike Murphy pretending to be a wax model, with one of them fake ice creams in his hand. The ones with the button and the top is a soft ball that flies off with a spring when you press the button. He was scaring the bejaysus out of people. Proper funny tv was back then. :cool:

Dublin isn't exactly the greatest place for fun. But I'd recommend a nice shopping spree in town, Liffey Valley, or Tallaght Square. At least it will keep your other half entertained. A LeisurePlex would be a good idea too.

I was thinking of leaving the GF in town shopping while I drove down around the docks area. I'm fascinated by water (long story) I was thinking of parking up the car and maybe going for a walk by the shore. Which is better, north or south?

I would avoid the Coolock one at all costs, the place will be crawling with undesireables tomorrow, especially with the schools off and the pubs closed.

Swords is better than Howth if you're interested in the water. Howth is more an entertainment area that just happens to be by the sea.

Curious as to mentions of water and Swords. It has zero coastline. Do you mean the Jacko?

I'd advise Malahide or Donabate (for an exceptionally good beach) are better options? But all that's getting away from town, which is why Howth is probably a better option for this guy.

Should have given better info there:

- get yourself to Howth village, which is the box immediately south of Irelands Eye on that gif, and find somewhere to park.

- from there, just ask anyone how to find the walk, or look up to the left up the hill.

Just lay in Phoenix park for a while, so much more relaxing than driving through town

ah many a fond memory walking through the phoenix park getting roasted by the sun on a sunday afternoon back in the late 80's, jaysus i must of been only 10 then. thank you mr. cleary for bringing those memories back, i shall savour them now.....
