GLS problems.

Sorry if this is in the wrong fourm but I dont seem to be able to find another place for it.

Anyways the problem:
ordered something from jes.de on the 14 of last month and it shipped on the 17, I payed €32 for shipping and so far its made it to knock. the courier is GLS btw if you cant guess.

Anyways I have rang them everyday for the last 2 weeks and all I get is that they will deliver it tomorrow and when I asked to talk to a manager I got some unhelpfull little git! He told me that the driver couldnt find my house but the driver didnt ring me to get directions as I have given them both my mobile number and home number and theirs always somebody at the house. This is also not the first time that I have gotten a delivery from GLS and I know it normaly takes a while but this is just mad, and all the other deliverys have made it to my house either by the normal driver who knows where I live or the driver rings me for directions.

What can I do to get my delivery short of driving down to knock to pick it up myself?

Hello Argentine,

Here it is 6 years later and these feckers at GLS are playing the same games.

I ordered a Christmas present from a UK seller on the 10-Dec and paid extra for shipping that said usually 3-5 days. It was shipped via Parcelforce and I got a tracking number. I tracked it a few times, first landed in Belfast and then to Rep. of Ireland but never said where in Ireland. It was in Ireland for a good few days and I was getting worried, they didn't have a phone number on their website, just an email, I emailed them every day for a few days and only got an automated response. Eventually after googling I found a number for Parcelforce in Belfast and I called them, they then gave me a different GLS tracking number.

I then went to the GLS web page and saw the same thing Argentine saw 6 years ago. The web page indicated the package was received in Knock, I'm in Galway and it sat in Knock for several days an they they started the wrong address thing, which was a lie. I then called GLS, they already had my address and my mobile number, but they never called me. I was assured the driver would call me first thing in the morning for directions. By noon there was no call, so I called GLS they said it was on the truck to be delivered and the driver would call when close for directions, he never called and it didn't arrive. I called again and they assured me it would be delivered the next day. No call the next morning 23-Dec., so I called and they said it was on the truck and even gave me the drivers name and mobile. I called this number over 100 times, no answer and no voicemail. I even sent him several text messages requesting him to call me and even offered to meet him anywhere to collect the package, but he never called back. I called GLS again and they said it would be delivered in the morning and someone would call first thing in the morning.

Next morning Christmas Eve, no call so I called again. I got a very nice girl who apologised after seeing the history and said she would escalate to her supervisor who would call me right back and she also said I should receive it later in the day. No call and I tried to call them back many times, but no answer and the phone just rang and no package. I later learned from the seller that GLS only worked a half day on Christmas eve, but no one I spoke to at GLS bothered to call me and their telephone messages and website never indicated this. Now I'm all for people getting time off for Christmas, but come on - this is a delivery company and Christmas Eve is their busiest day of the year, that's like a Florist taking off Valentine's Day!

I also know there was some bad weather, but the package did make it from the UK no problem where the weather was a lot worse and then didn't get past Knock only 30 miles away from me for almost 2 weeks. Christmas is over and my son was very disappointed because of these scum at GLS.

It's sad because about 7 years we received a present from a friend in the US that came via GLS and they not only charged customs at a rate that was way too high but they also added a €20 handling charge, the amount owed was worth more than the gift and I didn't want to insult the friend by having it returned to them. I later heard about this on the Joe Duffy show and not too long later I heard Comreg changed the laws to minimise this customs handling fee, but I now see on the GLS website that for Customs issues you can only call them on a pay 1550 number at 33 cent per minute.

How can a company like this that lies, steals, cheats and doesn't care about customers stay in business? How can we stop them, can I take them to small claims court for not delivering the package in a reasonable amount of time?

In fairness, although the tracking system is crap, there doesn't seem to have been any major delay in delivering the item.

You order on Thursday evening. So on Thursday and Friday, it was in the "Advised" status - this basically means that Komplett have told GLS, "We have a package here waiting to be picked up".
Then obviously on Friday it was picked up by GLS in Holland, and then sat in GLS's warehouse over the weekend because they weren't working. Then on Monday morning, they scanned it in, said "Yep, we have it", and stuck it on a flight to Dublin, changing the status to "Shipped".
So on Monday evening it arrived in Dublin, got scanned onto the system, and this morning it was sent out for delivery. Although it says it was scanned on the van this morning, you may not see it delivered until late this afternoon.

3 working days. Not bad at all. But yes, the tracking crap.

It's generally updated quicker and contains more information. I think you need to tick "Incoming international delivery"

Have you tried ringing GLS. They have a depot in Carlow that I konw of, and another in Cork.

got my komplett shipping email, shipped via parcelforce, link lead to gls, no record, so google parcelforce, enter tracking number, status advised,

this was thursday eve, fri same, nothing happening weekend, kept trying the parcelforce(gls) link just in case, finally monday, its on the system, shipped, left country of origin, the detail level is so cr*p, i had a feeling thats what shipped generally means,

finally today after much waiting its now on gls ireland which i got no link for, had to get them myself,

I mean I'd understand the sever lag in update if there whole system was using 28k modems, perhaps they are, who knows, and delivering via camels, and why pay money for a ship when u can row over, don't even need to buy food, u can catch it on route,

completely lost faith now, and its an Irish company i bought off, i order products from the uk routinely, the longest i ever had to wait was 3 working days, and that was standard shipping,

lesson learnt, gls is all well and good, if you want a service with virtually no tracking, 3-4 days = 3-4 yrs, and yes you will receive an email about your oder being shipped, but you wont get all the links needed as it passes through the array of sub tracking system they've employed with computer system that fill a warehouse and have the processing power of a non scientific calculator.

I've ordered products from uk companies and received within 2 days, Now i order from an Irish company and i cant even trace the package accurately, I know its in Ireland, but have no idea where!

gls..NOBODY MAKE THE MISTAKE OF KEEPING THESE C**TS IN BUSINESS. paid 50 euro for next day delivery from overclockers.co.uk. parcel force got it to ireland in 12 hours. gls took 2 F**KING WEEKS to deliver it to me. not an apology, no offer of money back just pig thick phone monkies. i left lots of contact numbers for them on the komplett board a while back.

Back around August I had a similar problem with gls. They ended up delivering it on a saturday - they rang me a few minutes earlier asking was I in. They left their own tracking documents on it which stated that the address was incorrect but they had sent a card to tell me that there was a package waiting that they couldn't deliver because of a wrong address (??????????). But yet the address they delivered to and rang was the exact address that was on the package. All told the package was in Ireland for a week messing around...

You would think they would ring me the first time they had the incorrect address....but alas no...i had to ring them twice to sort it out, and on the 5'th attempt they finally delivered. This order was from jes.de aswell btw.

I've ordered from komplett before and GLS have usually been pretty good at deliveries, until last week. I ordered a modem for a mate and it seems to have gottten lost. Komplett are supposed to be chasing GLS but I've not heard anything back.
