Originally posted by smiaras The story continued last week when I went down with what I thought was a simple process - transferring money from my account to an account at Ulster Bank: -'Sorry you can't do that. You can take the money out, go to Ulster Bank and lodge it but we can't transfer it'. Now to me it sounds like a simple request, somebody here who works in a bank may tell me what I'm asking for is actually quite complicated, but if I've got all the details (a/c number, sort code, bank, branch name & address) then what's the problem?
Originally posted by Johnny Versace I need to rant. This is annoying. I applied for a personal loan from AIB to clear my credit card balance, but they won't give me the loan as the credit card is an EBS credit card. The thing is: EBS credit cards ARE AIB credit cards. My bill is from AIB, I have to ring AIB with queries on the credit card etc. I've tried to explain this to the retards, but because they don't know that EBS credit cards are just branded AIB credit cards, and refuse to ring their credit card centre to check this, I can't get my loan. Annoying. I hate large companies.

I have to transfer my credit card balance from my AIB credit card to a new AIB credit card before they will give me the loan
Originally posted by adonis I think your attitude sucks they would do it if they could its not like they are trying to annoy you get over yourself already
they are just looking for commission when you open up a new credit card account
Originally posted by BuffyBot Most likely explanation. Branch staff will get commission for "cross-selling" you an AIB product.
Personally, I think the retard theory is correct. They get paid crap money, and couldn't be arsed using their brain
Originally posted by BuffyBot Well for the most part they don't. Banks generally are good payers. If you can't be arsed ringing around, asking other people in the same branch and/or other branches whether they can help you instead of sitting on your behind moaning about it on here, so deserve nothing more than you've been given by them.
Firstly, banks pay terrible money (I have first hand experience of this.)
Add to that the fact that the Banks were notorious for hiring people long-term in "temporary" positions and you have a monkeys and peanuts situation
