Hmmm…a real case of Confirmation bias…it may not have been on the radar screen of the "experts" on this forum (I too was not aware) but the article I posted for you clearly mentions it & includes a direct quote cited from a spokesperson for the Department of Transport confirming. Attached below from the Government web site is another confirmation of a strategy being worked on mentioned by Minister Darragh O'Brien in a written response to a parliamentary question posed (Nov '25) ….. I am just the messenger but see no reason to doubt that work is ongoing on a strategy.

I believe Android auto is a once off cost for car manufacturers, but BMW and others want owners to pay a monthly/annual subscription or it will be disabled. Beside the cost, it would possibly compete with Tesla services and if they helped android auto to integrate 100% then android auto may offer similar features for other vehicles, the user interface is a valuable space.

Unless you plan to do yearly 5000+ km continental trips, the free supercharging is worth very little, a couple hundred per year at best

And yes we have seen several Model X come up even under €30k in the last year. Prices have likely firmed though now the majority of people finally have realised the future is indeed fully electric (at long last, most of us knew this a decade ago or before)

Finland might push ahead with FSD next. Comments from their transport department also suggest the EU wide decision is due in October.
"An EU-wide solution can be expected in October 2026. However, Traficom is prepared to proceed on a faster schedule after the summer if the necessary additional information has been obtained on the key areas of assessment," the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency (Traficom) said in a statement".

"They" are pretty strict in Finland against speeding but the response shows that they understand that FSD is a L2 driver's aid and that all of the other L2 systems on the market including Tesla's own Autosteer and Enhanced equivalent allow the driver so set any speed they so decide.
Saw a vid last night where even the +5km/h above the maximum speed was not ideal when a Tesla in NL on FSD supervised was overtaking a car on a regional road with a 80km/h speed limit. It made it fine, but going 20-30km/h above the speed limit would have been a lot safer
We had plenty of debates about this in the olden days on the motors forum and nobody will ever change my mind on this. If I overtake, I do it with maximum acceleration for safety. No matter by how much I will break the speed limit. If I get fined, so be it, I will pay up and take the points

Setting a 20 or 30 km/h offset tells the car to travel above the speed limit by that much on a clear open road. That's a very different scenario to briefly exceeding the limit to overtake. I agree with you on the principle that exceeding the speed (but not recklessly) to finish the overtake quicker results in a safer outcomes.
Could you offer to buy it back as a damaged repairable and get it repaired cheaper yourself somewhere else ?
Or sell it on as is. And with the proceeds from that and the insurance payout, buy another car.
My preference was the car to be written off and I would take the payment and walk away. I presume if I get it repaired (no matter how well it's fixed - Ace Autobody) it's worth a lot less as damaged repaired?
Yes. Worth less. Maybe not a lot less. But if selling I would mention it.
I suggest you get on to the Insurance Company for the 3rd party who caused the damage and say that you also intend to include a claim for diminished value i.e deprecation as a direct result of history of car and significant damage. With this they may size the claim and add it to repairs, potentially getting you into the zone of a write off.
