Same with the Q gene. There are some bulls that breed good muscle without myostatin
I’d go for some of them aswell but there all gone too expensive. I might try the new lm bull from Dovea unbelievable but I would like to see some calves on the ground first. I h av e being told that dunmasc bull culla iceman is ok for calving aswell, just his figures are skewed from lads breeding show calfs from cows with a q.
Note just checked his calving has moved to 11.6%. But still no calves.
What are your reasons?
I won't be using him either, not unless he proved to be easy calving. (No calves on the ground yet, in Ireland).
I just hate the skulduggery that goes on with the UK bulls. They feed the sh1t out of them. No progeny testing whatsoever, take a great picture from a good angle and demand top prices for the straws.
He was sold two years ago but they're only after importing him now, probably because of bt. There was bidding in fair big chunks there
I knew a breeder who had a fine bull years ago, he had a good friend in an Ai company, bull had ibr. He got his friend to buy the bull for a high price, company tests him and gets insurance, everyone happy.
And they are charging 60 a pop for him after only making 16,000. Some neck on them.
what they sell here will be small. The farmer seems to keep the bull in the uk to breed and takes straws off them in the winter. His straws will be available in the uk also.

Glenmore Alex from Bo Sires is bringing lovely calves imo, great shape and thickness to them and they’re quiet too.

Yeah, have some, they’re only 2-3 months old off second calvers. I think he’s well worth a try and would use him again.

that’s some serious calf. He is breeding good stuff. I have a second calver off him now with a top class Orbi heifer calf and a springer aswell due in Oct. He’s abit of a underrated bull, was that calf easy calved? His stock usually are

Apologies if this has been asked already, but are they any Erebos LM bull straws left in tanks. Two AI men in my side of country (West) don't have him.

Too much Kaprico Eravelle in everything herd/catalogue main reason. Also supposedly good replacement LM. Have Lisna/Knell breeding in heifers as well.
if your looking for something different go with Rembrandt I’m very impressed with his stock have just a nice bit of him recently. You are right the breeding was gone to narrow for a while there.
Yes I've read alot of folks here and online have great things to say about Rembrandt. He has Foreman in his ancestry. Erebos sticks out as his milk is good which we need to improve and hopefully new bloodline that's not similar to the last 10 yrs.
Those french lines are proven to bring back milk and fertility into your herd with fresh genetics. You would want to put them on a beefy cow though. I’ve a Grenache bull and heifer. Growth rates and confirmation are a lot lower than we breed for in Ireland so their back ends won’t pop out. Good animals but more suited to first time calvers or heavily muscled cows is the general feedback. Ideal for a herd gone to far terminal.
Was plenty of them with Munster ai last Oct. Tink they are a little bit dearer than other straws. Have used a few but no calf on ground yet.

Synching 7/8 maiden heifers so that's why I was thinking using Erebos. We aren't worried about the selling of Maiden heifers progeny just out alive and well. If calves came as heifers that would be ideal for the milk injection. Easy CH here from 2nd calf onwards.
Used nebbiolo on some maidens this year and roy on smaller ones

NEBBIOLO, LM3713 is very poor on Maternal Calving, for some reason. 6.88% -that's very high. Bottom one percentile of the breed.
He has better figures for conformation
