I skipped Avatar and Pantera last night because personally just not a fan of either. Huge fan of Gojira though. The consensus is the sound was awful for Pantera, I really hope this wont be the case for Gojira.
Where were you getting dart from? We got from connolly at 4.30ish and had time for 2 pints easily before pantera
She doesn’t miss the point at all. She’s a good culture journalist asked to review a single Metallica gig.
And as everyone has pretty much acknowledged here, the fundamental flaw of the no repeats weekend is that a single night of Metallica on this tour misses out on a load of classics. IT should probably do a review of both nights as presumably that’s the way the band intends for the gigs to be enjoyed.
But as a casual fan, who wouldn’t go to two nights, Friday night’s set list was weak for a Metallica gig.
DRI are playing in Whelans next month if you want a glimpse of what thrash metal is about

The vast majority of tickets were for both nights so fans knew exactly what we’re getting. I don’t know anybody that thought it was a 3/5 show. No Enter Sandman on the night - couldn’t care less and I don’t think anyone else did.

Ultimately i guess, Lars especially can’t go from FFWF into Battery, into Blackened into Dyers Eve.
I mean, we’d love it…. But its not practical. And they probably do play a couple less intensive songs in the middle but again its prob him pacing himself. He’s fucked at the end of every night, you can tell!!

Should just be one ticket for 2 nights so scan again. I was actually able to transfer a ticket to my account from a friend's account that he used last night. Was in his wallet and all.
When she can't get the very basic point of how many towers were around the stadium you'd have to question the rest of the story.
And if you say she was asked to a review a single Metalica gig, in the context of a no repeat set of 2 gigs, sold as a pair, that's the point missed.

not much of a journalist if she missed that it was a no repeat setlist. That was known as soon as tickets went on sale. And complaining about no encore when they played for 2 hours and 15 minutes is ridiculous.
I’m glad Metallica are catering to the dedicated fans who know their stuff over people who just want to hear Enter Sandman. That’s the way it should be

there’s dedicated fans in this thread posting during the gig about how much filler was in the set.
And complaining about no encore when a huge percent of crowd are attending the second gig tomorrow makes it even worse. it was a lazy approach to a gig review deliberately avoidng fact last night was to a large extent one half of an extended show which finishes tomorrow night
Was thinking of going tomorrow but I can't seem to find any tickets available. Looked on Ticketmaster but there isn't even any resale tickets available. There's was loads yesterday for the double night.
