Between the Bord Bia bonus and the hex bonus, it will all add up, one thing for certain you will have plenty of weight, did these cattle get meal in the shed or grass?

Zero meal in 15 months. Very good silage and loads of fresh grass. Moved into fresh grass every week or so.
The first ones out the gate are usually the ones that leave the most. Its the other ones that lads need to worry about
Average weight of 405 Kg. O= and 0- 3+ to 4+ on fat score. Avg of 2,590 before deductions. Happy with them although I thought some would have been 0+ they were all dairy bred so I suppose I can't be too disappointed with grades.
That’s some weight, you must have had great grass for them since you first purchased them. From the purchase price to the sale price you have a great margin on them.
It is alright. They were always lovely cattle. I keep it very simple. As I've said before, keep stocking rate on the low side and fresh grass every week. They don't be any longer than a week in a field before moving again. Back again to same field 3 weeks or so after leaving.
The factories fiddle with the grading machines (unregulated). They can't be giving the dairy beef breed bonus out like confetti without some clawback.
I gave the first of my best cattle last year to one of the big 3, second batch went to an independent. The amount of ps on the 1st batch versus the os on second batch wasn't funny.
that is very true. Grading is soo much easier when you have a flat price

Just leave them at it. There does be plenty of grass left when I move them, but it grows back quicker.
Just after being told the HE bonus has reduced to 10 cent. It was 15 cent up to recently! But worse, they don't pay it on carcasses over 400 Kg. So that is after taking the gloss off slightly. It's very difficult to get all angles covered.

I fought that before with a factory agent. They had said anything below an O= wasn't eligible but they hadn't said over 400kg and under 240kg (open to correction) was the range. Just 20c at the time for HE bonus. In the end they paid it out. I always agree the terms as much as possible and follow up with a text message so there's no ambiguity when the kill sheet is priced up.
Anyone see AAx roughly 720kg go through a mart this week ? What would something like that be likely to make ?

Worth around 2400 in the factory depending on KO / Grade.
Maybe a little less in the mart as he's right up on 30 months and anyone but a factory man buying him would lose QA status -(30 day rule)

I’d be saying the same but you might get €50-100 with that, depending on where you are and how much weight they lose between home and the scales at the mart. I saw the report below on Facebook from Kilkenny mart this week. If 720kg at home is 700kg in the mart, at €3.60 you’d have €2,500 after fees. But depends on who’s bidding obviously.
Yeah usually id put aa and he into the mart, other plainer cattle to the factory all day.
Don't have a scales so bulking the weight by eye. Have 4 of them, I'm averaging the weight, 2 of them could be up on 740ish.

Bargain hard kill dropped 3k last week. 27200 down from 30500. Local.finisher had a shed with about 400 cattle 15-20 days ago, would be buying finished cattle in the mart as well. He would have heifers on grass as well. Less than 100 left in the shed.
England will qualify for next stage of the WC a lot of burgers to be eaten. I say the WC is worth 30c/ kg ectra

My cattle are fairly hefty at this stage so probably the best for them.
