two nights
Top Hat in Dun Laoghaire - I was 14 ;) Went to Megadeth when I was 13 a few months beforehand in another now gone venue called the Olympic Ballroom. Capacity of both 1,500 maybe.
My Citylink bus won't be in Dublin until 3.30pm, then I'll have to go to the hotel to drop off bags, was hoping to squeeze in something to eat before heading over to the stadium but looks like that won't be happening. Shoots anyway.
You could walk and be there in loads of time.
..
saw this prediction for dublin: https://setlist.ie/?artist=65f4f0c5-ef9e-490c-aee3-909e7ae6b2ab&name=Metallica#upcoming-shows
What’s the best place to park near the Aviva, ideally somewhere near the Convention Centre and the Aviva as I’d like to go to the pop up shop before the gig.
If you're willing to pay then the Bord Gais theatre is within a reasonable walk between the two.
Yeah I don’t mind paying once the location is ideal, can I park under the convention centre, what time does that car park stay open until.
Link doesn't work
I always park under the convention centre for the Aviva, and actually for most of my trips to Dublin, it's 24 hour, but unless it's changed you book it online in 24 hour slots at about €30. Means you can go and make a day of it though.
Convention centre car park closes at midnight
Should get back over there by 11.30 if the gig finishes at 10.30.
The amount of resale tickets is insane. Cheapest 2 day I could see is €141. May not be the best seats, but a bargain for a 2 day experience.
They all disappeared at midnight, saw some for 118 in block 524 earlier
Hope they don't treat multi day events as not resellable on the day (today!)
Heads up for people using bank of ireland, their app is undergoing maintenance on friday and Sunday evening so if you need to move money around do before the show, noting worse than having the money but not being about to move it when you need it
So the missus can’t make it to tomorrow’s gig but she’s coming to the Sunday gig. I wonder would I be able to sell her ticket to somebody outside the stadium and they can walk into the concert with me, it’s a pitch ticket as well so surely there will be loads of people interested.
Looks like they have… what a jip!
Metallica weekend is finally here at last!
Felt like The Day That Never Comes
I'll get my coat now that I have Blackened my reputation.
May there be pints, banter And Justice for All 🤘🔥🔥🔥
Forgot to get ear defenders for the kids. I assume the ones from a hardware shop will be fine?
I always forget something…
The music shop across the road from Bambinos near Stephens Green is having a closing day sale. Lot of Metallica stuff there.
Sorry maybe this one?

They do an evening rate from 6pm I think is for around €16 but as someone said it closes at midnight. Bord Gais Q-Park is 24 hours.
Edit, it's €18, https://www.theccd.ie/event-venue/explore/parking/
Where is this from? I only ask as it differs from what MCD have posted
That will be bought
Nice signage
Is this a tshirt as well or just poster?
Poster but they usually put the print on a shirt as well, I'm early entry this weekend already loads queuing up
Local artist. Gary Ronaldson aka Biteradius Designs. He's done shorts for Napalm Death, Kreator, Grave, Pig Destroyer, Exodus to name just a few. He'll be signing posters at the convention centre this morning from 8:30.
Was in the pop up about 15 minutes before it closed last night, picked up a Damage Inc t-shirt, the same design I had when I was a kid. Delighted with that.
Any amount of t-shirts available. No vinyl left except the new album.
Looks like the weather may be on our side; should stop raining around 4pm, then patchy rain again around 10pm. Place will be soaked though so bring a plastic bag to sit on if in the stands!
Closing because... Wait for it... A hotel is going in. Such a great little shop, what a shame.
