New season, new regs, new champion, new thread! Thanks @flazio for the prompt!
Changes agreed for next season so the ICE will be producing more then the Electric side
In reality, that split is 53/47 in favour of the internal combustion engine right now, but the FIA plans to move that to 58/42 for 2027 and 60/40 for 2028.
Progress, pretty much confirms this ruleset was a total failure.
Ye its about quantity now rather than Quality. Honestly I think 10 of the races could go and no one would miss them.
Big question now: will this be enough to convince Max to stay in F1…
I think it is. Just a question of what team…
I don't think he'll leave Red Bull to be honest. I see it being Red Bull or bust.
This is really good. Explains what happened to Stroll and Leclerc very well,
From what I gather Alpines appeal over Gaslys penalties have passed the first stage so now the FIA have to decide if the penalties were correctly given, the penalties were incorrect and Gasly gets his podium or if they decide the issue didn't just affect Gasly they can get the stewards to look at all the speeding in the pitlane penalties. Very interesting to see how this plays out
It appears they have admitted that there were errors in the distance calculation used in measuring speed in pitlane. That error would be, as originally understood down to them not measuring tge shortest possible driving line.
Furthermore, it is reported that the race stewards after seeing the 3rd penalty pop up asked if there were any known issues with th timing system as 3 drivers being 0.1 kmh over was odd. They were told no then penalties were issued. Disgraceful carry on.
How do they solve this?
In future put barriers up to stop the short cuts.
nailed it with that last sentence.
interesting
Even if Gasly is reinstated to 3rd place he never got to stand on the podium at Monaco, that's gonna hurt.
It could get very messy but if they know there was an error then they have to look at all the speeding pitlane penalties. No other team can appeal it now because the 96 hour window is closed but the stewards can look at the penalties. I think the easiest way out for them is to give alpine the podium because they appealed it
and then Red bull appeal losing the podium because they’ve followed all the rules on the day.
I think the only thing that may change is that they’ll be acutely aware of this for the timing lines in future races, and may allow appeals like this in future - as it stands today you can’t appeal pit lane speeding, because its a one or a zero - if you’re speeding it’s indisputable. Alpine appealed the lack of a right to appeal.
But that won't happen. Cause they are long past the time they could have appealed the penalty. Alpine lodged an appeal, it has nothing to do with anyone else, who could possibly also have lodged an appeal.

Alpine immediately issued a statement welcoming the decision.
“The stewards have rescinded the two five-second penalties imposed on car number 10, which reinstates the team’s third place finish.
“We would like to thank the FIA and Formula One Management for its transparency and co-operation throughout the Right of Review process and for reaching this decision.”
You'd feel for Hadjar but it's the correct decision I think anyway
I hope the irony that Flavio Briatore was successful in getting a race result amended is lost on poor Felipe Massa for his own sake!
George Russell must be steaming. 5 second penalty he got shouldn't have happened, and then he took it incorrectly so got the drive through. Ouch.
Monaco is such a sh!t show….
I was hopeful with the new smaller cars that perhaps we might get the kind of racing Formula E is capable of around here (and they are brilliant in Monaco) sadly not to be.

More joy in it. The first one is dull.

Merc have the lawyers on the case it seems.
Because the FIA have overturned Gaslys penalties and made the documents public they've opened up another 96 hour window so Mclaren and RedBull are now going to summit a notice of intention to appeal Gaslys podium. So RedBull and Mclaren have 96 hours to gather up evidence and decide whether they want to pursue an appeal over Gasly getting P3 but they can't appeal any of the Monaco penalties. What a mess this is turning into
the timing lines were 77cm too far apart, which is what alpine used as the means to open the appeal - and FOM have admitted that. So all penalties are in play, but only Russell has anything to gain really - however the drive through can’t be reversed - not serving the initial penalty at the pitstop was merc’s own doing
Russell's season goes from bad to worse. Kimi has been named by Time magazine on their list of 100 most influential sports starts, and he is listed under the "Leaders" section too.
it’s gotten a little bit better…
OK just saw this and have to share it lol,
