It may have been back in February but unfortunately it was still enough to put him out of the WC. Ankle injuries are notoriously difficult to come back from, especially those that require some form of surgery. Really feel bad for the guy.

Very much doubt he was faking injuries. Would expect it's more that they were cautious with his return, keeping in mind he wasn't going into the summer break, but rather into a whole summer tournament.
Exactly. I'd say perhaps they weren't rushing him back from injury or just being a bit careful with him rather than he was faking injuries.
I'd certainly hope that if he was faking injuries, which I'm sure is not the case, he wouldn't be stupid enough to admit it in public while he is still on our books. That would be monumentally stupid and I just don't believe Alli is that dumb.
I have the belief for a while that several players,including some of ours,have had one eye on the World Cup in recent months ,and were minding themselves.
It was strange looking back, at first, not serious, back in a week, never returned at all, missed FA Cup game with City, and 1/4 final games with PSG, and then rest of season. He better clear up his remark, as that won't sit well with fans.

At this stage, Allison doesn't owe us much, except his word about whether he is fit or not, given his injury history. We've been patient with him over the years.

It would have been nice to have be in the equation before the World Vup. Of all the young players there, he was the must likely to come good on the big stage. Huge talent.
It does look like Arsenal aren't going to make the mistake we made previously of not strengthening from a position of strength. They already have the best squad, have just won the league and looking to strengthen again.
We need serious work on our squad I can't believe all the stories I'm seeing about Gakpo leaving, we do need to actually keep some players 😁
RB (as unfortunately I don't think we can rely on Bradley to stay fit), CB, no 6, RW are all crucial to my mind. We probably need someone else on the left wing even with Rio doing well so far.
Despite all the holes in our squad above I think a few good additions will transform our team.
