I've just been reading about him. This is a very exciting signing. He brings a vast knowledge and experience as a former athlete himself. A great appointment by the club.
Definitely can't see us going for him now!
131m bid going in 😂
130 mil and one pound!
I wonder will Sagna and Rice start for England tonight now against Costa Rica. Tuchel confirmed Saka trained with the team but is not fully fit so it's unlikely. 9pm
Sagna is French and retired 😂
Ha stupid tablet autocorrect. Saka of course. 🤣
Highlight's from England's win yesterday against Costa Rica. Declan with the first goal.
We have a lot of players at the World Cup and they probably won't be back for the early friendlies. Looking forward to the team for the game in the Aviva, it could line-up like this, assuming all injuries heal and no departures.
Kepa
White-Mosquera-Timber-Califiori
Nogaard-Lewis Skelly-Nwaneri
Dowman-Jesus-Annan Anous
If there are some early departures from the World Cup, that could be strengthened, but there will be a lot of youth on the bench, with only Salmon and Setford from the current squad missing out in that team.
funnily I was reading arseblog earlier and Sagna was mentioned and I had to go back and read it right as my eyes just saw Saka
Rice needs a long rest and is unlikely to get it. He is dangerously over-played and that can lead to him being in danger of serious imjury.
Would give him until start September as minimum and Saka too
Or we all just pray, hope etc that England have a shocking tournament and are out after the group stages!
I can't bring myself to watch any more football, I've watched about 30 mins of the Germany game.
I think this season has taken it all out of me.
the World Cup isn’t doing it for me so far, I put France on last night and woke up to seeing Haaland score 😂
Highlights before school with the young lad will suffice for now I think
Very little interest for me either. I think the fact of the times it's on at combined with no Irish interest is the killer for me.
I'm actually enjoying what I'm seeing of the world cup so far. I'm finding not having a vested interest in who wins means I can relax & just enjoy the games for what they are in terms of entertainment. I rarelly get that with club football as only really watch my own so have a heavy emotional attachment & vested interest in the outcome.
Finding it quite enjoyable TBH. Though haven't bothered with any of the games with a KO later than 11pm at the w/e & 9pm on school nights.
rice didn’t look very comfortable when he came off yesterday
Starting with Coventry (H), Villa (A) and Chelsea (H) first 3 games.
The fixture computer has been very very kind to for next season. Here's to a great new season ahead as defending champions. COYG
Not a bad run in for the business end of the season either;
Sat 1 Tottenham Hotspur (H)
Sat 8 Leeds United (A)
Sat 15 Nottingham Forest (H)
Sun 23 Everton (A)
Sun 30 Brighton & Hove Albion (H)
I'm not super excited about the start of the season to be honest. It's not easy and we could very well be without several key players not yet match ready after the WC. The run in is nice though.
It's like reading tea leaves this far out
Talk of a deal for Alvarez this morning - €50m - €60m plus Gyokeres.
As much as I’ve criticised Gyokeres, I have to say I think that’d be a terrible deal for us. Say what you like about Gyokeres (and I have) but he is at least available most of the time and I think we probably don’t win the league without him last season.
I know he’s obviously an excellent player but I don’t recall Alvarez making much impact over the 2 CL Semi final legs with us this season (and Gyok actually performed well in both games) but that’s also too small a sample size to judge from.
I had a look at his stats from last season - 29 league games and just 8 goals (6 non penalty goals) with 1900 minutes played - just over an hour a game. This guy will be 27 in January and has a bad injury record that looks to be catching up with him.
He’d be a huge gamble imo, I don’t think he’s the guy.
As an outside observer I think Gyokeres plays better with Havertz, get the two of those on the pitch together!
Odegaard with an assist for Haaland last night and was excellent banging on the drum afterwards. 🤣
Probably not known yet but any idea what hotel the team will stay in for the Dublin Friendly? I'd love to bring my son in and try to get him some autographs.
not sure big cash plus player deals ever come off really anyway. Often mentioned rarely actually done. im not sure where I am on Gykores, he actually scored quite a lot in the end really and I think if he hits the ground running next season could go very well but he just doesn’t feel like the top centre forward that leads the line for a top club.
Hincapie made permanent. Good.
are players allowed to sign autographs these days ? we had the vip wristbands for the emirates and got to see the players get off the bus and head into the stadium and they are rushed through not allowed to stop and it’s only kids there waiting there’s no autograph scalpers
