Years ago, the separate bidet in the bathroom was plain pointless, you had to get up off the toilet and make your way to the bidet....... however you would manage it!
I think the bidet/toilet combination is getting more popular. Also a simple hose attachment beside the toilet is as good.
Personally I wouldn't be without one!.
I did up my toilet 2 years ago and put in a bum gun. You just plumb it into the pipes that are already there for the cistern.
Good as a bidet and doesn't take up any space. Lovely fresh bum every time. Great job.

I wonder how in healthcare so many practitioners have no ability to keep to a schedule and manage their time respecting appointments that people have been given and accepted ?
A parent yesterday had a scheduled home visit from a state physio to perform an assessment. Physio arrived 45 minutes late to a mid morning appointment. How’d they get that far behind so early ? No phone call from their office in advance to notify or apology or acknowledgment by the practitioner on arrival. Made parent late for another appointment.
The ones in Japan are great, I shifted a nest of baked in clinkers in double quick time while the device played operatic music for a background sound.
Even sent a few puffs of powder to dry out the muzzle plus a couple of darts of hot air.
