Good point, they should have though
But they didn't, I have absolutely no idea what your on about. Do you even know yourself.
Why?
It wouldn't have mattered so much but given the state of the panel, and a revamp needed. That Dublin side were the last side you could think of that could function without a manager on the sideline.
That decision by the GAA has probably set Dublin football back a number of years. Confidence is on the floor now.
Everyone in the gaa knows they bureaucratic to a fault and nobody every will interfere with established laws of the game
Ger brennan was dealt with by ref > given a red card > it goes to CCCC to determine a ban
McGuinness was dealt with by the ref > no red card > CCCC has no role, wont get involved
Michael murphy pucks the head off a lad > ref determines a yellow > CCCC has no role, wont get involved
The president or any other single person has no power to compel CCCC to get involved where they shouldnt. If something was missed on the day (as happened with diarmuid connolly that time with the linesman) then they can get involved. This didnt happen in any of the above cases. The CCCC arent some hit squad that can jump in wherever they see injustice.
The gaa are slaves to procedure and if that procedure isnt followed then congress needs to change the procedure via motion yadda yadda yadda
If they are slaves to procedure then Ger technically didn’t breach the rule they banned him for. His altercation wasn’t with an official member of their back room team.
Under that logic then no red card should ever be reviewed and players shouldn't be able to appeal.
By allowing appeals, and overturning reds on technicalities, they have undermined the concept of the ref dealing with it on the day.
That's the thing though, the Connolly incident wasn't missed. It was seen by the ref, was in his in report, and no action was taken at the time. So we have a clear case were the CCCC decided to re-ref the game when it suited them. If it wasn't for double standards the GAA would have non at all.
Anyway f**k the rules and f**k football (for today) .
The Dubs will hopefully be Leinster Hurling champions, have a great chance today.
O'Callaghan out for Dublin is a big blow. O'Donnell not fit to start too...
Good looking crowd walking up to game
Huge loss
Disaster of a start
Dublin really struggling here. Galway all over them. Wide open at the back...
Great response from the lads
Great Goal..
Great goal. Back into it now.
Is it going to be one of those days where there's different rules for each team?
Galway getting their scores alot easier, Dublin close gap, Galway get a couple of quick points each time...Dublin sloppy in possession too...
Yeh they are making space easily. Think 4 point down is actually not too bad considering our awful start. Similar start against Clare in league final , hopefully we can put in a better Second half.
Galway had the wind in that half
Really ?
I’m on the hill and couldn’t tell..
Yeah, it's definitely favouring shooting into the hill
Yeah, that's true...definitely a factor...
Think Dublin needed to take that goal chance...it's not looking good....need a few scores quickly.
yeh that’s what I thought.
Ref seems to get in the way a bit , right in middle of action.
Brutal second half. Instead of working the ball into scoring positions we've been lumping aimless ball in all half. Shocking tactics.
Get in there
Alot of hit in hope by Dublin, they just can't put a run of scores together.
Really disappointing by Dublin...This was a chance of silverware and straight to AI semifinal. The old failing of putting back to back performances together comes back to haunt them...nothing going for Dublin...Galway penalty should have been free out...
That's awful from the ref. A clear pull down missed and then a penalty for a flop.
