Just because you go to a football match to watch your team play football and support your team does not mean you support one political agenda over another.
The FAI should limit the attendance of the Israel home game to season ticket holders only who have held season tickets since before this group was drawn. ID to be checked on entry.
If season ticket holders want to protest then fair enough. The game shouldn't be hijacked by nutters who never show an interest in football unless there is a political angle they can exploit for their own benefit.

Speaking of the U21s I see that Sinclair Armstrong who had a decent enough record at that grade and got one senior cap is off to Turkey. He looked promising at QPR in a poor team before going to Bristol City where he didn't set the world on fire. They've a new manager who clearly didn't fancy keeping him so the move to Göztepe S.K. (being honest, don't think I ever heard of them) is a bit of an odd one. Having said that, with the recent trend of young Irish players doing well outside the UK, you'd hope it works for him.

One of the problems there is the fai will have to refund season ticket holders 20% of their value youd imagine…and they are in no position to be issuing refunds.

The FAI can't go making such claims about the government - in public at least - because it has to work with the government. Your suggestion is the nuclear option.
If this match goes to a neutral venue far away, the FAI could always put a claim in for compensation on gate receipts, lost catering and bar revenue, choc-ice sales………
