Tony Bloom is a dose in his own life and in football. Ken isn't being contrarian, he's hitting on something I've seen a lot people vocalise as this Jamestown stuff unfurled itself in other locations and been presented as the all-seeing eye. As ironic as it sounds, MON and Celtic winning was indeed a win for the romance of football. Hail hail Loved Murph needling Ken about being a West Brit and both Eoin and Ken taking offense at the most obvious statement ever uttered on the podcast, too. He'll come around to real football and the Tones yet.
If clubs don't have the resources to compete financially in the transfer market, they need to try something else. That something else will always rub a few up the wrong way if it challenges the status quo.
O'Neill cleaned up a mess, fair play to him. Celtic should never have been in that position (although, only 6 points off Hearts when he took over in January and already ahead of Rangers) so you'd hope that that fans keep the heat on the board even if it all worked out. Romance in winning their 13th title out of 14th or whatever it is, is good spin though.
Eoin, Murph and Ken acting like City had already beaten Bournemouth by how much they were going about how tricky the Palace game was going to be for Arsenal
Ken has kind of loss the plot on VAR and refs at this stage. It’s kind of boiling his brain.
My favourite Scottishism is "radio rental" = mental
Duffer having a pop at the Brannos is easily the most interesting thing that’s happened for the podcast’s LoI coverage since Duff sacked off
Second Captains had this up as a story on Instagram. Got it from the subreddit
Some think it could be Gavin Cooney joining
that doesn’t seem like a way to announce him joining unless he has a part time hobby of collecting microphones. It also wouldn’t make much sense to have him joining as what would he bring that Ken doesn’t.
Hopefully it’s something that gets them closer to people who actually matter in the game. They’re not stuck for talking heads giving their take, what they’re stuck for is insight based on sources close to the game.

You don't think a photo of a mock press conference is a sensible teaser to announce someone joining?
I don't think Gavin Cooney is joining but this isnt a teaser for anyone or anything who has a part time hobby collecting microphones
9 mics in the photo - Ken, Eoin, Murph, Branno, Cillian, Simon, Mark is all I can think of, so if i am missing one person, a new person would make 9.
Cooney is supposedly a cert forn the IT anyway.
Guessing it's this
Philipe Auclier is always a classy roll out.
has a lovely accent…has dubious takes on football such as thinking Ekitike (2 international goals) had a arses roar chance of displacing Mbappe (56 international goals) from the French team but a lovely accent.
Was it Philippe who was on before the last World Cup final and came across as supremely obnoxious and arrogant?
I do remember that piece I thought there was a weird atmosphere between Eoin and him but he was grand yesterday. I usually hear Philippe on guardian football weekly and he's generally very good
Philippe had no doubt the French would win as a superior team.
He was on the day of the final and did his mea culpa but then got distracted by fuming about Martinez' penalty antics.
Auclier was on Football Weekly yesterday marvelling at how perfectly Arsenal played the Champions League final, he can be a bit up his own arse
Thought it was a good game as well. The lad is just not a very good analyst. I hope we aren’t going to hear from him during the World Cup as some sort of France expert.
Barry Glendennig enlightened him on a few home truths.
It's rare that I agree with Barry Glendennig but yes he seemed to be the only voice of reason!
agree completely
The pod still isn’t available to download on my Apple Podcasts. anyone else the same?
Droppee about 5pm for me on podcast addict.
I remember Gavin Casey on the pod swearing blind Katie at Croker wouldn't happen.
I think he's a good journo but making statements like that is always a quick way to look foolish with time.
you 100% on that? The guy they had on 3 or so months ago said he thought it would happen..and I think it was Gavin Casey.
“We chat to The 42’s Gavan Casey about if it should, happen, how it could happens, the financial factor, the fan factor and why he thinks it will happen”
"quick way to look foolish with time"🧐
So what. This is a showbiz issue not a sporting issue
Confirmed.
Cant believe how many americans sent voicenotes in for Ken Call. I wouldnt have thought they'd have broken that market…yet 😁
