New Munster chat thread folks. warning deserved there. https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=109477571#post109477571
Nothing in this response refutes @sydthebeat point. Maybe I'm missing your point ?.
Disregarding the frankly obscene comparison of someone claiming innocence when being charged with rape to a commercial entity denying being involved in an appointment.....
I can accept that you have a distrust of the IRFU and you have biases based on that, and that's perhaps coloring your opinion, but.....
I'll take your own words, and standard, when you say :
I've posted before how every other coaching appointment made had "Munster and the IRFU are pleased to announce" as their opening sentence - something that was also picked up in the media. Clearly the IRFU do have some remit re: assistant coaches - otherwise there'd be no need to mention the IRFU in any statement.
And point to to the fact that when Randle was announced as in-coming… there was ZERO mention of the IRFU in the press statements.
So if you say that the IRFU have some involvement, because they are mentioned in the announcements.... Then by direct inference the fact that there was no mention of the IRFU in the statements released shows, by your standards, that they had no involvement.
Shane Leahy. Fair play
"…has co-ordinated the distribution of more than €200 million in medical aid since the war in Ukraine began in 2022, travelling to Ukraine more than 40 times."

Someone must have been sniffing around Michael Foy
Munster Rugby are pleased to confirm that Michael Foy has signed a new contract that will see him continue as an Academy player next season before moving up to the senior squad for the 2027/28 campaign.
Apparently there were quite a few sniffing around. Makes sense though, IRFU pay another year wage for academy and a few more senior contracts will likely be up next season from a purely budget balancing perspective
Lomax has signed with the ABs through to 2029 - a dent in our TH hopes even post-RWC
Shite.
Obviously Flannigan was lying on irish examiner interview…...what an abject CEO
I really don't want to defend Flanagan, but he said there was an offer in for Lomax, he didn't say Lomax was signed or even had agreed to anything.
He was hardly lying, he was very clear in saying that Munster had tabled an offer for him.
He is a total embarrassment. Discussing internal matters externally to try and protect himself. He is a self serving imcompetent and the club is worsening year on year under his tenure.
Actions speak louder than words.
I will celebrate the day he is gone.
He wasn’t lying
Place bid. Place name in paper. Look at me and my ambition.
He Thinks……
They
Stupid
And
Me
Smart
The weird thing was that he named a specific player at all, very unusual but even more so when it's not a done deal.
It's still noteworthy that Munster have permission for an NIQ TH, just a matter of finding one now.
He was ambiguous at the very least , he has been ceo over probably the mist disastrous period in munster rugby..failed utterly.…how such an incompetent remains in this vital position beggars belief......reflects where munster rugby is at
Surely McMillan will have identified a TH prop in NZ...not one of test level quality which is a non runner I think this close to the WC
No current International is going to sign anywhere that hits their chances of selection for the World cup.
After the world-cup there should be quite a few players interested in a move , but for the next 12/18 months the overseas pickings are going to be very very thin.
Munster Rugby are pleased to announce that Jimmy Duffy will join the province as Forwards Coach ahead of the 2026/27 season on a two-year deal.
Sean Cronin moving back to Provincial Talent Coach full time (academy and sub-academy role) as well as taking on the additional role of Pathway Scrum Coach
Is this a good move. Don't know anything about me Duffy
Some will say that Ulster's scrum and lineout weren't great this season, but he has an impressive CV having worked in Ireland, Tonga and Australia. I'm happy with the move tbh.
He has a great reputation for bringing on youth players
Methinks McMillan is gone... munster rugby making announcements on new coaches.. bad vibe coming from there
McMillan literally said the following
"He comes with a glowing reputation for developing players and driving high standards and accountability. When we spoke, I was impressed with Jimmy’s sense of purpose, his attention to detail and work ethic."
Munster Rugby always make announcements about new appointments whether they be coaches or players.
In fact that's how every club in every sport do it. We're you expecting McMillan to call a press conference to announce this or what?
that’s a very amateur hole to dig for yourself. Generally you’d hear about potential signings from the player/agent side because any coach /exec knows there is only downside to talking about things that might/not happen, particularly someone of the calibre of Lomax. Only piling more disappointment on fans. The level of incompetence at the Munster exec level is an endless source of 😔
Fully agree. Absolutely pathetic by flanagan
Agree. Amateur hour. Not surprising though.
His management of Munster has been a shambles all through.
He should go back to sc**ball.
Did we ever get an official leavers list?
Yeah why hasn't it been announced who's leaving?Bit of a joke to be honest.
Would be nice to see a conclusion to the season with an incoming and departures list
Munster hiring Jared Payne according to TRK
It's not a rumour.
https://www.munsterrugby.ie/2026/06/09/jared-payne-completes-coaching-team-mossy-lawler-signs-new-deal/
Munster Rugby are pleased to confirm the appointment of Jared Payne as Assistant Coach on a two-year deal.
We are also pleased to confirm that Mossy Lawler has signed an extension to his contract that will keep him at Munster until 2028 as Assistant Coach.
Munster’s attack and backline coaching responsibilities will be shared by Payne and Lawler.
