How do you close a business 'permanently' ….. 'for renovation'?
If the purpose of the closure is to renovate the premises, it's not a permanent closure. Or, am I missing something?
I'm presuming that's in Dundrum Centre?
Ah shame, I loved that store. They're affiliated to Cotswolds outdoors in town - presume that's still open??
all the branches have closed in Ireland unfortunately. Would be nice to see another prominent retailer take the space in Dundrum like Ikea or JYSK

The Runners Needs part of the shop, a UK chain of shops had a closing down sale, I assume they were just renting space in the shop. Any time I went in there the staff seemed to have very little interest in selling running shoes and stuff. I have on occasion stood in the running area and was never approached with an offer of help. Cannot vouch for the Snow & Rock part, never bought anything in it.
Pretty sure Snow & Rock have closed permanently and also their branch in town not just renovation. They had a closing down sale

'Popeyes' is also opening in the old P Macs outside. disappointing to see more fast food crap to go with Slim Chickens..

the premises in Dun Laoghaire between McDonalds and Apache Pizza that was (I think) a Windows and doors showroom, is getting done up at the moment, it will reopen as a Gala convenience store.
Meanwhile the old Apache/Tacito takeaway in Blackrock has planning permission submitted for change of use to a beauty salon
So true. They may find out the hard way part of the appeal is hipster exclusivity when instagramming €7 croissants. The ever growing chain set up really dillutes the "local bakery" artisan feel imo
Passed through Dun Laoghaire last night, it always amazes me that the units in between Dunnes and McDonalds have been vacant for so many years. Easily 20 years at this stage. Somebody clearly owns them. You'd wonder why they've never been leased out or sold.
Owned by Dunnes, it's more tax efficient to keep them derelict. The Council are powerless to do anything but are painfully aware of the eyesore.
Dunnes are antisocial property hoarders. Can see it all over the country
Not at the same level but I saw another Fred Cafe (of George's St Dún Laoghaire) has opened on Nassau st in town.
Not their typical location. No free parking. Car park to far away for when buying big bulky items. retail parks suit them better
How is it tax efficient
Planning permission has been approved for a new 71 bedroom hotel in Century Court in Dún Laoghaire. The hotel is meant to be built right beside the Lucena Clinic which is located behind An Post's Post Office in Dún Laoghaire.
Lucena Clinic had concerns that the building of the hotel would cause disruption to the services they provide to young people who have moderate to severe mental health difficulties.
It appears that the planning board had ignored their concerns and gave approval to build the hotel right beside the clinic which is a disgrace IMO.
Looks like Zara Home is opening as a standalone unit in Dundrum, outside by the millpond currently occupied by Bella Baby. Also Stradivarius has signed for the old golden discs unit which connects with the cinema building
it’s my understanding that it’s a change of use. That they are reusing the existing building.
Manna drones is not opening in Dundrum.
