and that isn't 21ft high in the picture. Unless they are measuring to the top rail of the basket. I'd say it was hop farming too. Shed builders here would have an interest in it. Wouldn't really pass for insurance though or maybe it would being purposely built to hoist up people.
might be the wrong place for this but anyway… can someone tell me what this lever does, it adjusts something up and down under the seat on the same side as the levers for the lift, it’s on an Mf 290, I’ve been Googling, is it the draft control? I think this has something to do with the lift but no idea what it does or even the if this is it
Diff lock
Not really clear what that linkage is connected to from the photos. Rough guess but is that 290 a 4wd ? Or at least the cab from a 4wd model?
Or maybe the PTO speed selector. Blindly guessing here.
im talking about the red one
Switches to constant pumping control?
A lever to lock arms to use hydraulics for something like a log splitter? Never seen lever like that
it’s a 2wd, I’ve searched google and found the photo below, I’ve circled the lever that it moves, it’s the one above the dipstick, hopefully this makes it all a bit clearer
Thats the flow lever, which regulates how fast or slow the lift arms drop.
passed this garage today. he must have 6-8 of these in a line and another 6-8 of the Fiat version. €41k
From the road they look really well.
you learn something new everyday, sound 👍
Not a classic, but a query. My father recently passed and he has a Massey 135. It runs and we had worked on it in my youth, so it has a special place in my heart but it's in working condition, not a show tractor. I want to buy it from my Mum, but I want to give her a fair price. What's the ball park figure I should give her. She will offer for free but I won't be OK with that. What should I pay her?
It depends on many variables, year of manufacture, condition obviously, cab, paintwork, list is endless.
Ballpark 4.5k to 6k but obviously there's the others on the other side of that. Put up a picture and might have a decent stab at it.
I know they were a good tractor, but thats crazy money.
Older JD stuff has gone very expensive in the states, main reason is very few electrics, no ad blu and if you are any way handy with a spanner you can fix it yourself. I think the same trend has started here too. If you were stuck you could pull start it with the jeep or jump leads. Yes it's crazy money, but does €1000 a hp for anything new make sense either?
I thought you were a bit expensive, but after looking at DD 6k to 8k roughly.
Everything is over inflated at the moment. And im sorry so sorry to hear about your father, may he rest in peace.
Say it to your mom, she might be happy to keep it in the family. And offer a couple of grand cash, that is there true value. I bet it was bought for a lot less
Bought in 1996 for 300pound, needed a bit of work but was running. Had a lot of work done over the years to keep it going but has been used effectively without a break for those 30 years
I wonder were some of them bought at up north a number of months back
I saw 3 of the blue up for sale in various condition for around 10-12k sterling if memory serves...I was tempted....they weren't in near the same condition as that and details on the ad were minimal however.....
Feast or famine with them I've noticed over the last couple of years there's either very few or nearly a glut at times
I bought a tidy enough one 18 months ago for 3250. No cab or rollbar.
Mechanically good but left in a shed unused in a long while . About 500 gone back into in a roll bar and servicing .
I think 4 up to 10k is your range.
They are overpriced for what they are though

Strong price for a crystal needing a good bit of tidying…
To be fair it doesn't need a great deal of work. The panels are surprisingly straight and all the glass seems to be there. An original looking thing
Small bit of tlc would have it looking lovely, what a suprise, brakes need attention 🤣
Its parked awhile judging by the green algae on it. Hard to see it making that money or even near it for that matter.
Yea that crystal would only be worth half that asking price. theres plenty of other more refined 6 cylinder tractors that could be got for the asking price, albeit needing some work
Deutz dx85 for sale in Carlow for €10,000 on DoneDeal
This looks a fair price for one of these, only issue with them I remember was the dry brakes.
250 in parts would have them sorted. Master and slave cylinders. Brake discs, new balks n springs and oil seals. And a bit of time
The black cab and engine makes it 1978 or later I think. They would be rare enough now because they fell apart. Weren't put together as well as the beige ones, early 70's models still on the road putting in a day's work.
It's only around the road from me, it may be over priced but the owner wouldn't be stuck for money and can wait for someone who might pay big bucks.

880 hours, not sure if they are the original hours or if its ever been registered even..
Just caught my attention as i kinda prefer the 3 stick model 390's over the shuttle 390's
Very little wear on the pedals , the seat in bits and a matching set of Good Year tyres, hard to know about the hours if the clock is on the second round, red diesel so must have been in the north or UK
