So…presales are on. How confident are we all feeling?
Well just got home from work and sat down with a beer to update the clashfinder. Thankyou to 'CactusFan' and @grudgehugger for banging out 3 of the stages already! I'll have everything else done in a bit.
You guys clearly don't have anything to do when you are at work! :p
For clarity, I updated the time of one act only on Strawberry Fields as I wanted them to be correct to map out my clashes - too sunny to be doing more than that!
All hail @RangerToby !!
Yeah they don't want a backlash especially when they are still trying to sell tickets.
So has anyone had a dive into the unknown to you acts? What's taking your fancy?
Liking Ela Minus, she has an early enough slot but Im looking fwd to her.
More on this topic to come.
E
Such a varied line-up, it's hard to pick out who the lesser known acts are.
The act I'm most looking forward to and had never listened to is actually Princess Nokia (although will I go to her? Possibly not if Moodymann brings it!). How well known are Dug? I only know them due to last year's ATN where they charmed the pants off me (almost literally). Despite the clash with Chalk, they'll be the true kick-off to BTP 26 for me.
Im not going this year but id definitely check out madra salach
Saw Dug supporting The Scratch in Waterford a couple of years back. Really good
A few clips of Dug from BTP 2024.
Dug are great, seen them at ALS and the sugar club maybe somewhere else?
Another act to check out is Rois, not to everyones taste but one ill also be at.
Sister Sledge will be great craic, could even match last years Boney M set.
I love Max Coopers show, so looking forward to that.
Salma will be packed I'd say on the Friday.
Looking forward to Princess Nokia, she was due to play B&S, maybe 2018 and pulled fairly late.
Horace Andy on the Sunday should be class.
Not fussed about any of the headliners tbh.
There is tons to enjoy!! Marie Davidson is another. My sons have recommended a load from the 2FM stage so I'll check some of them out.
Can it start right now???
Edit...Madra Salach also...basically I'll plan to see 1000 acts and will be happy with 20ish....
Does anyone know for a fact what the policy with bringing in alcohol to the main arena is? 😅 Any concrete evidence?
I can’t imagine it will differ from last year. As Farnish said it is probably deliberately vague so people are hopeful it is free flow. But if it was I’m sure BTP would be screaming it from the rooftops to sell more tickets.
On Friday - Sama Abdulhadi would be a lesser known act were it not for her standout show last year. I expect she'll get a bigger crowd than Groove Armada who I would also like to see if even just for nostalgia sake. If dance music is not really your thing you should check out Aindreas de Staic & the latchikos at the same time in Puc Fada - mighty craic altogether. Ella Minus would be one to watch earlier in the night.
On Saturday - I would like to check out Fejka although it clashes with Marie Davidson so will have to stick the head into both and see.
Shark School were the first act I remember seeing in 2024 and i thought they put on a good show.
Hopefully will be nice weather for Mr Scruff's 3 hour set on Saturday afternoon.
On Sunday - Glasshouse will be a nice gentle way to start the day. Madra Salach afterwards maybe. Max Cooper is certainly the thing I'm most excited about and I hear that Overhead the Albatross should be good on the Sunday night.
Yup oura dat!🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺
Yep, Sama set last year was the highlight of the festival for me
Would imagine the path between the main state and cirrus will be well beaten for caribou to sama on Friday night
From the horses mouth...
So for the arena at best that'll probably equal one in your hand and maybe one or two unopened in your pocket. At worst, one open container only.
So same as last year and pretty standard.
For those that haven't seen what's at the bars.
Reads as a bit more free flow than last year anyway
Yeah that's my take on it. Basically don't take the piss and all is well...
I wouldn't worry too much about the alcohol situation, the festival site is fairly small and a short walking distance to the campsite. Its not like the trek to the campsites at Electric Picnic.
V true but still nice to be able to bring in say 3 cans than just one opened
Is the round tower upgrade new this year? Anyone have any experience of it?
How do we think it’s selling? Really pushing heavy on social media and seem to be coming with all sorts of last minute extras/deals to convince people. You’d worry
You'd think 10k tickets would be easy enough to sell given the interest in music festivals in that country
the day tickets being €200 haven’t helped shift many tickets.
Yeah thats ridiculous. If they were 100quid I'd be tempted.
Why does alltogethernow seem to have ten times the interest in it despite not really offering much more?
ATN offers a hell of a lot more than BTP
ATN offers arena level headliners and a very comprehensive midcard every year in a great site and in an overlooked part of the country with a good population. ATN location suits those from the south and from Dublin.
Like what?
better and wider number of artists, more stages, more late night option and better grounds
