May as well throw one up to keep the discussion in the one spot.
Hopefully Ulster do the business this evening to kick off a great weekend for Irish rugby..
Those cut out passed killed the momentum of the attack most of the time and left the recipient in no mans land once he was tackled.
You're talking through your hoop now. There multiple breaks in the first half down the left wing that happened specifically because Harry got the ball wide early. Arguing is easy when you just make things up.
If you think penalising Ryan for cutting across chasers is shocking, wait till you see the yellow card for the hair pull
To claim there was no pressure is just absolute nonsense. They were chasing the game, there was enormous pressure.
Point still stands. He was worlds better today than Harry was. Harry wasn't the reason we lost. But Frawley was a marked improvement today.
Ryan was tackled into Doris by Penaud.
And that hair pull yellow would be given 100%of the time. There is no legal tackle at the back of someone's head.
Congrats to UBB. They won every facet of the game. Leinster were out of ideas very early on. UBB got every bit of luck too. Frustrated with some of Dickson's calls too.
My Leinster ratings (just to annoy everyone):
Porter 4/10, scrummaged well but didn't provide much with ball in hand
Sheehan 4/10, similar to Porter. Didn't have any real sense of urgency around the pitch.
Clarkson 5/10, did fine in the scrum, a few decent carries and one spectacular (but fruitless) run to close down LBB.
Ryan 4/10, tried to impose himself but failed. Late to a good few breakdowns. Looked gassed.
McCarthy 5.5/10, a bit livelier than Ryan, didn't look as gassed but easily outplayed by his opposite number
VdF 4/10, as honest and hardworking as the day is long. But that doesn't win games.
Conan 4/10, another that looked like he was struggling in the heat. Didn't physically impose himself on the opposition.
Doris 5/10, some good metres made but didn't bring his team with him. Not sure he's the best choice for captain
JGP 4.5/10, needed to bring his best game today. He didn't. Disappointing as he is getting on in years.
Byrne 4/10, some good work in attack & a fine try saving tackle. But kicking the ball dead and throwing a very weak intercept are not the standard needed for a Leinster 10. He's a solid player but solid is not good enough to win European titles.
Henshaw 3.5/10, offered very little in either defence or attack. Let Lucu in for a very soft try under the posts. I thought he had regained some form this season but he couldn't do it when it mattered.
Ringrose 3.5/10, again very little impact in defence and almost anonymous in attack. There was a time when he was the best 13 in Europe. That time has passed.
Ioane 5.5/10, haven't been impressed with him at all this season. But he was one of the few Leinster players that gave a good account of themselves today.
O'Brien 4/10, not dominant in the air, several wild kicks, missed tackles. Never really got into the game.
Keenan 4/10, so far below his standard. Something not right there.
Furlong 3.5/10, Tadgh doesn't have long left in pro rugby. A great player in his pomp. I've missed seeing him play well.
Kelleher 4/10, replaced Sheehan but ensured the continuity of mediocrity
McCarthy 4.5/10, didn't get many minutes but didn't do much wrong
Deegan 4.5/10, looked lively and well up for it. Should have come on earlier
Mangan ?, did he even touch the ball?
McGrath 3.5/10, short cameo but littered with errors.
Osbourne 4/10, a bit better than Henshaw but not much. No impact on the opposition
Frawley 6/10, Leinster's best player. But possibly because he had the freedom to go for it when the game was likely lost. Also likely he wanted to show the Leinster coaching staff what an error they've made
Cullen & staff 2.5/10, UBB were always likely to win this but it shouldn't have been such an easy task for them. Leinster attack is toothless and their defence is porous. A new plan is needed. Professional rugby is usually fine margins, the difference today was country miles.
So it's a penalty for grabbing the top of his jersey/high tackle, it's not a yellow card for hair pulling because long hair gets caught up in it.
What Ryan doing when he was 'tackled' by penaud
Show me where I said there was no pressure on him, please
Yes it is a yellow. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not the case.
Ryan was in a legal position, he doesn't have to move out of the way when he's stationary
The same Connacht that lost twice to Leinster this season, one of those games being the grand unveiling of the new stand at the Dexcom? Yeah there's belief in your team but there's also clear trolling, which is what your post is.
Penaud was in no position to compete for the ball and just barrelled into Ryan's back. Another Dickson classic.
This must be your first match
Ryan doesn't have to move out of the way, but he was blocking. Its obstruction, just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's not the case.
Apologies, fair point.
I meant 'less pressure'
The pressure on both was similar.
I think the words you were looking for is a clear and unimpeded path
I wasn't talking about 1 game. Some on here suddenly decided he wasn't good enough as soon as he was leaving and at the same time massively exaggerating how good the other 2 10s are.
Penaud actively chose to run into Ryan, just as he could've chosen to run into space. It was entirely a collision due to him. He was nowhere near competing for the ball anyway.
It definitely wasn't.
Frawley was freerolling, game was gone . Although I thought Harry was terrible, it still really favours they guy who comes on when the game is dead.
Agree 100%. He wasn't surrounding the ball carrier. Blocking the channel is nonsense - Penaud ran a line so that he would crash into Ryan.
No it wasn't.
I actually did Frawley somewhat of a disservice. He came on when they were 28 points down. When the scoreline is that big then it gives an out-half that bit more freedom to try something different, especially when Frawley didn't contribute to that 28 point deficit in the first place.
He played well, and absolutely was better than Byrne. However, to say it means it was mistake to let him go is a massive reach.
How anyone can say Frawley was under the same pressure as Byrne is nonsense. It's a completely different level of pressure starting the game at 0-0 than it is coming on with 35 minutes left and 28 points down.
Coming on to a leinster thread with a shiteating username like that - obvious troll.
Its not obstruction on a kick receipt to stand in position.
I never said it was a mistake to let him go based on today's game. Been saying it for months.
Henshaw was on the pitch? Jesus.
That was, hands down, the worst final performance of an Irish team since.... Well, Ulster last night. At least they had Balacouune and Mikey Lowry trying. Can't think of any Leinster player hitting a 6 out of 10, probably Frawley....
Bye bye Jaques. Collect your medal from Rassie for a job well done. Irish rugby is totally confused 2 years out from the WC.
Has Leo Cullen resigned yet? If not why not?
This isn't a Leinster thread.
Not a leinster thread its a EPRC final thread

Bordeaux so much more effective than us today.
Have Blayedal and Niemabar resigned yet? If not why not? P45 time lads. Non-existant attack, porous defence.
Bordeaux were wise to Ringrose coming out of the line...he never nailed anybody...
people just want a villain, it’s easier to blame one player
Nobody from Leinster played well.
Ulsters game was yesterday, the conversation is about a leinster game. It's as as good as a leinster thread today.
An even more unlikely place to find munster fans
