May as well throw one up to keep the discussion in the one spot.
Hopefully Ulster do the business this evening to kick off a great weekend for Irish rugby..
great score balacoune
Kok injured according to Ferris on comms on ITV4
Every time Ulster have scored, they've made a mistake almost immediately after the restart to let Montpellier back in.
fully expect Montpelier to score from this scrum
The heat is gonna be terrible for Leinster tomorrow
Christ. Montpellier are just streets ahead tonight
far too easy for Montpelier. They did really well to shear that maul in their favor
Its tough alright but theres a gulf in standards between the two sides here. Not sure it will be the same tomorrow.
Day to forget for the Ward brothers.
That maul try was unreal.
Hot knife meet butter
I know it's a cracking venue, but seems a touch unfair to have a final in a climate that's so alien to most of the teams.
Size of those replacement props for Montpelier
This is embarrassingly poor. Mentally miles off it. I don’t think any Ulster player can be proud of their performance tonight.
This is the sort of physical mismatch you'd see watching the English Roses play.
They've been pretty poor in urc post xmas, I can't fathom going all in on challenge cup whilst not securing CC for nxt season.
Bath & Toulon amongst previous winners of this comp....Ulster are at an early development stage.
Full deck & they can play lovely stuff & trouble most teams
Baloucoune and Lowry have played well I think. Izuchukwu and Augustus have been effective.
The Bilbao temps tomorrow are expected to be cooler than today...
All those calls for the Ward brothers to be catapulted into the Ireland squad seem very premature. They've both been awful tonight.
Sure it's 23 degrees here tomorrow. Not too many Irish players would be used to that either.
Bryn is only 21 and has an athletic profile that's well suited to test rugby. He'll get there eventually.
Zac is nowhere near good enough unfortunately. Abysmal hands and is a poor tackler.
Shocking display from Ulster tonight.....
Theres no getting away from it now....its been a poor season - alot of excuses going around, but Richie Murphy wont be given a free ride anymore.
Congrats to Montpellier - by some distance the best team in this comp....they are a serious Champions Cup team.
Ulster's attack has been pretty good, they've just given so many easy entries to Montpelier.
Why do Irish teams always save their worst performances for the biggest games
Fair play to the deserved winners. Have to think that the heat played a part in the abject defensive display but some players just looked overwhelmed by the occasion. Challenge cup is still our level based on finish to the season. Tough to attract top players to strengthen the squad now and thats what we need sadly
Men against boys tonight....jesus, if Leinster did that tomorrow there would be a tribunal.…
Ulster stank the place out.
Zac Ward had a very poor game, think he's a good way off the step-up to the international game
Defence has been poor all season….18 tries alone conceded in the last 3 games…cannot be competative with that porous a defence……
Please provide some evidence for this tidbit…
Yea that's shocking alright. Ulster scored 4 good tries. In any normal course of affairs, that would have a team right in contention in a match.
Hard luck Ulster fans, that wasn't pleasant viewing for the second half. Some silly errors got ruthlessly punished. Their maul and scrum took over too and that was that. Seemed like every time Ulster scored they let them back in
Lowry and Balacoune showed up, how Lowry hasn't gotten more of a look-in internationally instead of us shoe-horning in wingers is beyond me.
Bryn Ward, bar one barnstorming run, had a stinker off the bench. The brother wasn't much better, a pity cos they are very talented. Hopefully they'll have another day to make amends. The injured cohort were a huge loss
