I would think that the Zoe isn't any higher off the ground than their current Polo. It is also obsolete now so unless it is a great bargain I wouldn't suggest it.
The e208 is probably a little bigger than the Polo but not significantly higher.
The e2008 is bigger and higher so ticks that box. I have a 2021 e2008 for the past 2 years. Largely trouble free - a minor problem with an electric cable from a rear wheel to the main wiring loom. I repaired it myself but it is only about €40 to buy new and 20 mins to fit. I get about 320km in warmer weather but in colder weather (say Dec & Jan) it goes down to about 190km. That is the calculated range from 100% to 0% though which isn't reflective of real use — you would never run an ICE car from full to completely empty. In normal usage going from around 80% to 20% in the warmer weather the range is 250km and cold Dec/Jan weather it is down to 130km or so.
That isn't a problem for our use as we have a charger at home so it just dictates how often we need to charge it. I assume they will be getting a home charger. We have charged it at public chargers on a few occasions (less than 6 times) and that is fine - quick and painless — again that is a learning for them.
The Ioniq 5 is a much bigger car than the Polo — probably a bit higher but definitely wider and longer.
Consider a Kona. Easy to get in and out, good range, reliable and well within the budget. If new, perhaps a Hyundai Inster.
Volkswagen are releasing an Electric Polo. It looks well in photos and the price is supposed to start at around €20,000. Might be an option?
Just beware of some SUVs that they'll have to get up into and down out of. My parents can't comfortably get into or out of any of the SUVs in our family.
The Niro is a good shout as the height should be manageable and the doors open wide as well. Also look at the MG4.
Avoid inster. The boards is thread is full of owners with multiple ICCU issues, when replaced blows again.
I was about to also suggest that the answer here is Kona or e-Niro. Range, reliability, and a very slightly higher ride height than a hatchback, so you just sit sideways into it really easily
We have a Kona, very easy in/out, great range for the buck, small boot but we knew when buying so not an issue for us
You could have an E-Tron GT for just under 40k now, albeit with not a scratch of battery warranty left, and some beautiful racing stipes ;-) but still…

Mileage a little on the high side but that's not as big a consideration with an EV. Battery SOH is still 87% and showing 335km range for an 80% charge. Good quality interior too.
These are nice because they are a little higher than a standard hatchback but not as high as an SUV.
Another vote for the eNiro. I know prices have gone up recently but that is mental money for a 200k km one.
Less than year ago got one with similar mileage for 9k! If you're gonna go high mileage just grab an ex taxi one of these and keep the savings for potential bearings replacement.
Looking at Buying a Kia Niro up North and found one (no links) that is 202 KIA E-NIRO 150KW 64KWH 4 Hatchback 48k miles Level 4 so it has some nice extra bits like full leather, rear view camera, heated seats etc it is a nice spec €16k
This ok price or anything should ask need to check re Battery

221 car with just under 41k miles KIA E-NIRO 150KW 64KWH 2 Hatchback Parking sensors, half leather, pearl white paint
It is younger and less miles €17k
€17k above our budget but looking at the 202 is it a decent price?
You need to include links or car registration as these may be mainland UK cars and not suited to import to ROI.
At €15k, that 200k one is a bit overpriced IMO. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see them go up in value as it means I could do quite well selling mine on after a couple of years of ownership! But there's probably better value ones to be found.
Was told they are ok for import 2 regs MT22 JYP and WJ70 EZZ as friend bought from this dealer before and no issue

Hello. My mileage is highly suspicious.
I don't think anyone in Ireland would have the software to clock a Tesla, and the old NCT discs are all present
Why ? Is there something special in Ireland anything can be clocked and software is not limited to a country, you can buy what you like from ali express.
The NCT gives comfort but the mileage seems bizarre for the age tbf so it's right to be suspicious.
Seller looks like a wheeler dealer based on number of cars sold. He may have bought it from someone who traded in into a garage etc, does look good value if true.
I don't think its too cheap, its a 12 year old base model with very short range compared to modern EVs
Looking for a decent 2nd car also to be driven by a young 21 year old driver for use 95% of the time in the suburbs / within the M50.

That’s a nice example and is the executive model which has all the toys. These are really well built and great fun to drive. Given the relatively high mileage on it and limited range, it’s probably not worth anything like that asking price. Usedcarsni.com might be worth a look for a better value example.
Check out insurance first though given it’s potentially for a young driver. Some insurance companies won’t quote for an e-Golf/Young Driver combo but will happily quote for a 1.0 manual car.
